| I Read earlier that Grayson has loaned a massive 66 players in his time at Leeds.
Not only do I find this embarrassing but I'm struggling to think of any who have been anything more than average.

66 since we got relegated in 2004
31 loans for Simon Grayson, 5 of which were emergency cover for goal keeping

| Interesting how Redknapp's undeclared money has been shown to go straight out of the football club through Monaco, of all places.
Of course, Harry's not non-domiciled, so HMRC can nail him for it. If he'd have officially lived in Monaco, then there would have been no comeback on how much he took out of the club.

| Looks like we're getting Ben Parker on loan.
I was happy about this until I heard about his petulance in the Pavilion on Saturday! We can do without behaviour like that at our club!

| Quote ="tad rhino"And certain players are on £15k a week. This comes from a first team player. Becchio, snodgrass and mccormack are three. Also, and i don't know which idiot agreed it, but paynter and brown are also on this. Leeds wage bill is £11m a year. More than enough at this level'"
Oh how easily Bates manipulates Leeds fans...
The quote in the Leeds programme was:
Quote ="Bad Santa"Where’s all the money gone?’ is the latest chant from the vociferous few. Well, I’ll tell them. Simon Grayson’s player budget was £9.5m for the year. As I write, we have so far committed £11.722m, over budget by nearly 23 per cent.
It is bad business practice but a demonstration of how far we have backed the manager and continue to do so.'"
Now there's too important weasel words here:
"player budget" that does not equal wage bill a more normal interpretation would be that it means wages and fees (whether for loans or signings).
"committed" means its a projection for the whole season but we already know that they're trying to get rid of some players. (Also it seems likely this projection doesn't include Howson's sale as it wasn't completed at the time that was written)
Also 11m is not "more than enough" at championship level - in 2009/2010 (the last year for which championship clubs accounts are publicly) 18 out of 24 Championship clubs had wage bills ([unot[/u "player budgets"icon_wink.gif of over 12m. In the same year Leeds' wage bill in League One was 14m! [url=http://swissramble.blogspot.com/2011/11/derby-countys-american-dream.html[uLinky[/u[/url

You talk as if all theses things are in the past. The clubs finances remain as opaque as ever and we've missed a chance to buy the clubs property assets back at below the market value for no logical reason (well they are a few obvious possibilities but they all point back to KB).
The club may not have the direct financial problems it used to have but it Bates is leading the club down the exact same path as he did with Chelsea and the only people who came out of that well were Bates and his cronies.

| Crazy decision. I can see that this has been coming for a while, but recently form had picked up a bit.
The new man in hasn't much chance to change things around, apart from the loan market (which seems to be all Leeds used anyway recently).
If they were going to sack him, surely beginning of Jan, on the back of three defeats in a row and with a full transfer window to do deals in would have been better.
Or would the sceptic in me say this is Bates trying to deflect some attention from himself. I understand he got a bit of heat from the fans last night

Where've you been for the last 7 years ? There's been anti-Bates feeling from the majority of the fans since the day he took over.
The right decision IMO.
He's done well for us has Grayson, but he'd never of got us promoted in a month of Sundays. Good luck to the bloke for the future.

On your second point, I agree. Nice guy, got us out of League 1, and a win against Man Utd, but not good enough to go further. I know he's despised by nearly everyone, but I see Warnock has been mentioned, and he would do well at ER. We would then truely be the most hated club in the land, by some distance, having the holy trinity of Chairman, Manager and Fans

True. But we'd never be the most hated club in the Premier League.
Having said that, incompetent chancer Steve Bruce would be an even worse appointment.

We would, just not for that long if most of his managerial career is anything to go by

| We should try and get Chris Houghton (sp) from Birmingham, doubt he'll come here but he'd be ideal.
Di Matteo has also been linked, but I hear Bates already offered him the job after the Burnley game but he turned it down.

| Feel sorry for him really but I think it's time he went. We seemed to go for him as he knew how to get a club out of league 1, which he did.
I've heard a lot of fans against Warnock but I think he would be a decent appointment, in the same vein as Grayson, being that he knows how to get teams out of the league we are in. He would also hopefully give us a bit of nastiness, which I think we need badly.
Seems like all this media attention is aimed Bates which will hopefully put some pressure on him, Harvey etc.
The reasons the club have given which have been stated on Sky Sports News are laughable, basically confirming there isn't going to be any investment so we need someone to get this squad (which is weaker than last year) to overperform massively.

| Grayson's position became untenable yesterday IMO, with the statement regarding O'Brien that he was now available for selection again . As Grayson had stated that O'Brien was finished at Leeds after his refusal to play. IMO Grayson should have got the facts right before opening is gob.
Then the manner of the result last night just finished him off.
Let's hope whoever comes in can get the team playing attractive winning football.

Pure scapegoat...classic Bates.
The timing is a joke the day after the transfer window closes - just in case a new man wanted to spend any of Bates precious money

It does smack of Grayson sticking his neck out or speaking out to the press without engaging his brain.
The timing is interesting isn't it - coincided but not a coincidence perhaps!
