Tony Martin was a very useful player back at London Broncos and would have got into most SL sides at the time. Hence him actually returning to the NRL.

IF its true your looking at Martin then it isnt as a stopgap signing for this year. Signing deadline for this year was last friday. So Martin must be for next year if theirs any substance to it.

According to Peter Smith in his article in the YEP on Thursday we have signed an Australian centre to be announced in the near future. I'm hoping it's someone from the NRL and not Martin!

Martin is from the NRL, he has just taken the Welsh bypass to get here.

Obviously I was meaning a player currently playing in the NRL! I don't think Rhino supporters would consider Tony Martin a high profile signing. Ten years ago he was good but he's not of the quality we want now.

Of the NRL centres coming off contract at the end of 2011, there's only really Cooper that would interest me.

Expect Leeds to be in hot pursuit of Shane Elford, Adam McDougall or Ash Graham.

I agree that Matt Cooper is the quality centre on the list. If the Rhinos meant what they have said about high profile signings the other three are lower down the order although I wouldn't be surprised with a signing at that level. I know there's other mediocre centres coming of contract but whose the best of the 3 you've mentioned and I know Elford and McDougall are well past 30?

It's a shame Gasnier is retiring. He'd have made an adequate replacement for Senior.

Yes I think those 3 are mediocre like the others on the list! Cooper is by far and away the best of those coming off contract. It would be good if GH was chasing him but that's wishful thinking!

I believe that Junior Sa is coming off contract at Newcastle Knights at the end of the season.

With Danny Buderus likely to return to the Knights in 2012 perhaps GH is negotiating a deal to bring him to Headingley ?

They may offer "Mad Dog" McDougall who is 36 and older than Senior!

Cooper would be good, or if they could tempt the younger Gasnier I would be very impressed.

Wishful thinking as he's still only very young and looks to have a decent future but I like Blake Ayshford at the Tigers.

Personally agree with Brisbane though, if we do sign one, I don't think it will be a 'big' name
