| I think Buderus will stay for next season. The Knights wouldn't be offering him that much cash to go back, as they're investing heavily elsewhere. Leeds would also have to agree to an early release, which they may not do if a number of other players leave.
Of the possible departures, the one that has to be sorted ASAP is Senior. If he stays he'll want to stay left centre. That means yet another year with Watkins getting few/no chances to play in what's supposed to be his best position. Leeds have to show that whilst they're loyal to players, that doesn't mean they can play on well past their sell-by date. So IMO he should be told now that he won't be here next season, and if he wants to keep running round he'll be able to get another deal elsewhere.

| Quote ="The Biffs Back"If we do end up having a clear out of our present 1st team squad, including several overseas players then surely we should have plenty of Cap space available
IMO we should use this SL Cap money to sign 2 top class players from the NRL.
I believe that we need an experienced centre and of the highest caliber.
My number 1 priority would be a player like Matt Cooper , I'm not sure of his contract situation but he would be a very talented addition to our squad
Our 2nd major signing depends on which players depart'"
I think I agree with this post. Quality over quantity is far better, and use them to work with promising youngsters and promote them.
A definately, and Cooper would be a great signing.
Can't understand the rush to name props. Personally never been a fan of taking on overseas props unless there is a dire need for it. For me overseas signings should be s, Halfbacks, Backrowers, and at times Hookers. Props and Wingers signing from overseas appear just like signins for the sake of it to me. We have enough props in this country to match the overseas ones, it's the other positions we seem to fail.
For me, I would go for Carvell for prop (think he is still out of contract), Cooper in at , Waterhouse for backrow, and I will still say this halfback spot needs a contingency.
Quote ="The Biffs Back"I would also like us to sign a couple of promising players currently plying their trade in SL and depending on the decision regarding the SL franchise and if Wakey do get the bullet then there's 2 players there that I'd take a punt on:
One is Chris Dean he looks quality and the other is Paul Johnson who also looks like a very talented player, and neither would cost the earth.'"
Not so sure I agree with this, and seems to be quite a few shouting for this. It's only six months since both players were deemed not good enough by Saints. The same Saints that are using youngsters left right and centre. It's quite easy to stand out in the Wakey side at the moment, because most of the players are gash. Therefore any hint of ability and people notice you. If I was taking anyone from Wakey it would be Murphy, at least he's shown it over a longer period that he has the ability.
But I agree with looking to sign a couple of promising players in Super League.

well Wilson is a current name.
And in a few years there would be some more.
Depending on the full back situation and who gets that spot. Smith can do a decent job at centre, but always thought BJB might be ok there as well.

| Cooper would be a great signing - but it will never happen - the problem is there isn't sufficient quality to go round the NRL yet alone get any of their real quality players here.
The pull of a club the size of Leeds will always give the club an advantage with British players in a salary cap sport where spend is finite - the salary policy at Leeds will always be an issue - they will never be able to match clubs like Wigan/Warrington/Saints for a very special player.

Ooo I know it's not like the Aussies have tried there stars in other positions with plenty of success and not too many dramas.
Inglis fullback, wing, centre, stand off
Hayne wing, centre, fullback stand off
Boyd wing centre fullback stand off
Benji , centre, fullback scrum half stand off
Lockyer, fullback, stand off
Hunt, wing, centre, stand off, fullback
Matt king, wing centre,
Folau wing, centre
Idris wing, centre, backrow
Greg bird centre, stand off, backrow
Wiki, wing, centre, prop
Slater wing, fullback
Hopauati wing, centre, fullback
Jamie Lyon, centre stand off
Kurt gidley fullback, stand off, scrum half, hooker
Inu wing, centre, fullback
Whatever we do let's not experiment! Lets just let the best in the world do that.

Nah mate, you're reading it upside down.
My plan is to have McGuire & Burrow sharing full back and BJB in the Halfs on his own.
Seriously - My bad I wasn't even concentrating on which way round I was putting them if I'm honest.

Really
How long did Inglis play at stand off before he was moved 5/6 games?
When was the last time Marshall played in anything but stand off?
When did Slater last play on the wing for Melbourne?
etc
There is a difference between a short term solution and a complete move ala Wiki

Inglis played a season at 6 for Melbourne! He plays in the centre but it's common knowledge fullback is his best position(belly ache saying it the most). Benji played at centre for the tigers before he moved to the halves.
Slater was an origin/Aussie test winger for 3 or 4 seasons

Well sal is a little wide of the mark and showing poor knowledge regarding inglis slater and benji. trying blokes in other positions isn't a bad thing.
Why not try hall at centre! Smith did it for a season!
If Wayne Bennett played Eastwood at centre, stand off, prop and backrow for the broncos it's not gonna kill to try it out!

If Menninga had been at Leeds you;'d have all wanted him to prop.

So, having found out Hall is a damn fine winger, international class and all that, shall we give him six games at scrum half, or hooker maybe?
You never know, worth an experiment.

| It depends who ends up contracted for 2012. If the out of contract Senior and Webb leave from the current first choice three-quarters and Smith, Hall, Watkins, Jones-Bishop and Hardaker remain then how do we arrange them into a back division?
A lot of good/promising wingers there, not so many good centres.
