| I disagree G1 re-Burrow early season mate his passing was way off the mark granted his runners also had a part to play in that.
He also bombed over-laps and looked very panicky at times.
Granted the team overall were'nt performing either but his current form during this winning run is much better than how he started the season imo.

IMO Burrow has scored three or four top drawer tries this season that would have our fans salivating had anyone else scored them.

| Quote ="G1"Agree entirely.
FWIW I see nothing wrong with a scrum half who is willing to take on the line as regularly as Burrow does.
FWIW Burrow has an excellent kicking game. He's not our main kicker but when it's called into play it's superb.
And finally, FWIW, this thing about Burrow's early season form is a fallacy. Burrow has been on top form all season, collecting MOM awards with regularity.'"

His performance on Friday was no different to his early season form. Form which I agree with you on.
How many games in are we? he has put in good performances in about 4 matches, all coinciding with McGuires return. Friday wasn't one of them.

I don't disagree the 1st 2 games so i should of being more specific mate but others such as Quinns ,Wire ,HKR ,Giants and Wakey 1st half he was out of form and struggling along with most of the team imo.
Gotcha i think he was much better friday when he got caught in possesion by the catalans or looked rattled he had no options with runners or space to kick it even happened to Sinfield more than once mate.
I think his decision making ,passing and al round game look sharper and the trys are a bonus.

| Burrow has guts, speed, great tackling ability for his size and has a nice step.....he is a trier. No doubt about any of that.
However, although the finish was unquestionably good last Friday, the headless chicken running that got lucky was not. His brilliant try from the centre position against Crusaders was just that: a great centre's try.
Burrow just does not convince as a scrum half. His size dictates his position.
As for MOM, G1..... Do you really have that much respect for the guy that picks him ?

For instance, I don't think Delaney was MOM last Friday but I can understand whey he was selected as he had a very good game.
It's indicative rather than conclusive.

Completely disagree watch the try again.
He goes left then right and assesses there's feck all options in terms of runners etc checks the line of defence and spots the gap and bang he was away.
Now i know it happens quick but watch him carefully he's looking all the time and picks the gap very quickly and gets his reward.
Now like i've admitted above i think his form has improved but give the lad some credit for reading a situation and expoiting it.

| Burrow has been arguably our most consistent player this season.
I think it's funny that we're quetioning his form/ability with this as the backdrop, simply because the grass suddenly looks greener over at the Galpharm.
I seem to remember Brough being considered an expensive and disruptive waste by his own fans for quite a while after his move.

Possibly but i thought the players did'nt have to move and were static rather than runners who ended up in the defensive line.

Hasn't the discussion about Burrow and where Leeds need to be in that position been going on for the last 18 months? Before Brough even went to the Galpharm. I think the only relevance here is because this is a thread about Brough, and people have compared.

I don't think that has come from Huddersfield fans. But certainly prior to that, that was indeed the sort of description fans would put on him. His attitude stank. But can't players learn, change, and grow up? It appears the case here at the moment with Brough.

I like Burrow for all the qualities I listed..... And would always try to place for him. Still not convinced he has the right attributes to be a scrum half....but as stated his size limits the options. Have suggested before maybe an impact hooker off the bench....but M c S hane would appear to have convincingly cemented that role now. Hood too waiting in the wings.
Burrow keeps his scrum half role by default only IMO.
I will watch the try again though.

I remember a coach saying on the Super League show a couple of years ago that Danny Brough has a shelf life of about two seasons at a club before the wheels fall off.

I disagree, Burrow has been consistently good. OK, he's not won matches on his own like McGuire did last season but he has pulled the strings and scored some very good tries in the process.

The discussion has indeed gone on for that long, but I find it strange that he's coming in for stick now when his form is greatly improved on last season.

It was Huddersfield fans who were critical of the signing. They thought Brough would upset the Brown/Robinson partnership which was functioning very well at the time. Incidentally, it was also around the time of Brough's arrival that Huddersfield suffered a significant drop in form.

Ony some Giant fans. Others realised that Robbo is a 9 not a 7 and the Giants needed a quality kicking game.
The drop in form happened well after Brough joined us-at the time of Hodgson saying he was going to the Wolves AND Nathan Brown saying he was leaving. No blame on DB.

I am so glad you don't make the decisions! Burrow doesn't need replacing! And even if he did, I would hate to for it to be Chase! I would suggest that Brough and Burrow are the best srum halves in the competition at the moment let alone British born.
I don't want show pony's playing at Leeds. I want players that will put the work in for the full 80 minutes, rain or shine, winning or losing. Out of the three of Burrow, Brough and Chase, that only gives me one option.

| If - and it's a big if - Leeds decided they wanted a change at scrum half there are only two running around in SL I'd be even remotely interested in as an upgrade to Burrow and that's Johnny Lomax (based as much on potential as anything) or Thomas Leuluai.

Yes Actually, it does! A team that works hard together, more often than not wins together. Unlike you, some people don't just go to see some over the hill aussies that grace our club, some people go to watch and support their home town club trying their hardest to win.
As I said before, I'm glad you don't make the decisions. Burrow might never have got the chance to represented his country.
