| Wishing a speedy recovery to Luke, the photo looks bad but glad to see he's at least concious.
I gave a huge cheer as the hit went in and enjoyed it immensely, but after a few moments it was clear something bad had come from the challenge. I was as concerned for Luke at that point as I was when Westy got KO'd against Saints and when Owen went down at Bradford. It's a game we're all passionate about and the hits are what makes our game great, but we also hate to see players in a bad way, yes even Leeds players!

| Sickening....certainly put a dampner on the evening. Was watching on Sky with wife and kids in my continued efforts to convert the whole family from football and RU. I was succeeding......but now my wife has vowed not to watch again
I daren't show her Luke's photo. She'll come round though I'm sure...up until then she was actually enjoying the skill strength and commitment on display in abundance. It was an accident but I bet the lad that did it isn't feeling his best.
Get well soon Luke. As always you RL guys command nothing but respect from me: I hope you go on to achieve many good things in what is by far the best sport in the world for real men.

Sorry it doesn't happen every game. And the reason it doesn't happen every game is because it's a really stupid way to "tackle" people. Walker ran full pelt at Burgess and just collided with him. He made no attempt to set himself for contact in any way. Walker was very, very lucky he didn't get seriously injured as well. In the end, a really dumb ass "tackling" attempt has seriously injured a player. His coach should have words with him because if he does that every game he'll last about another game before he gets stretchered to hospital himself.
I'm not saying it was malicious and I'm not saying it was intentional or deserves review, but FFS, it was stupid . Walker could have ended his career as well as that of Burgess. He didn't even use his shoulder properly.

| I think Luke would have been more gutted had his tweeting hand been broken.
Looked horrible but if Bailey is fit, it's unlikely Burgess would have made the 17 for Wembley.

Go find this weeks NRL coverage and there will be lots of hits exactly the same. Did you watch Warrington versus Leeds last season, where Adrian Morley put a massive shoulder charge in on Ryan Hall? Exactly the same kind of challenge but just because Hall got up without injury no one said anything except applaud Morley for the hit. Today we simply saw an accident that thankfully doesn't happen too often. The tackle technique is used often and will continue to be used week in week out. Maybe now you'll keep an eye out for it and spot that it does happen lots and isn't a stupid way to tackle.

No there aren't. You need to be able to tell the difference between a guy going into a shoulder charge with control and a dip just running full speed into someone. Either of those players could have been badly hurt, as it was it was Burgess. Poor technique, poor control, bad outcome.

| Quote ="Gazemous"Apologies if I misinterpreted what you were saying, but it seemed that you were implying it should be illegal, or it was in other codes. I was saying that it was an accidental clash of heads in a collision, and there's no way that should be illegal, or that outlawing a shoulder charge will prevent clashing of heads.
It's like saying you shouldn't be able to tackle from behind if you're the second man in because you could break somebody's trailing leg - just as Richard Owen found out in the third game of the season - ending his season and putting a highly promising career off the rails for a few years.
It's just one of those things that happens in a heavy contact sport, it's all dangerous - and that's part of its charm.'"
You're wasting your time mate. The guy wasent complaining last year when Bailey broke Faasavalus nose, that was the greatest hit ever made at the time.
Just unlucky for Luke and it's a shame for him but Leeds wont miss him, he isent good enough and needs to spend less time on Twitter.

I'm sorry but were any of you at the game tonight. Ive come home, pardon my french but like the rest of the stranger leeds fans around me, I was seething with the cas fans. OK Biffer got smacked and he went down and there was a cheer, we all do it as you'd think it was a big hit. When a lad stays down though and the medical team rush on you think of the worse. Now what did the case fans do? Yes they started chanting the name of the lad who hit him. While still down they then went on to sing "senior is a ". finally after much time as Biffer was carried off the so called RL fans in the cas end behind the stick appluaded him. I dont say the C or the T swear words much but I did tonight. When a lad is out cold and this happens it makes me think I'd rather see wakey stay up and these mindless cretins be rid of for good. scum is too good a word to use on this lot tonight, it spoilt what should have been a very good evening.

Anyway, get well soon Luke from all the Cas fans.
Meanwhile some plonkers want to start and drift wildly onto something really stupid. Good luck with that kid, i'm off to bed.

What? Singing?
There was nothing wrong with the songs whatsoever.
However, I do wish Luke all the best. I hope he makes a quick and full recovery. He's a good kid and he belongs on the paddock.

| I am no doctor but that is a broken jaw! Thats how it goes in RL, am sure McGuire & Sinfield can give him some words of encouragement regarding missing out of CC final.
Didn't like the young kid who put shot on jumping about after he dropped him, getting beat by 32, 2 mins left???????? But guess he is young and will learn that the game is hard enough without resorting to WWF showboating....... What goes around comes around.
Unlucky Biffa, lets hope Kobe do protein shakes for next few weeks............

It was banter and jokes. I'm sure even the most ardent fan wouldn't seriously wish any injury on a player. There was some stuff I did disagree with tonight and in the past with Cas fans and although they should have stopped singing when it was clear it was more than serious, the content is not serious enough to warrant a fine. Otherwise it really WOULD open a can of worms.

My question to you, would be, have you heard worse on the terraces? Because, trust me, I have. Like I said in my previous post. There were some embarrassing comments made by the Cas fans and I am fast losing my patience with the minority who WILL cost the club fines if they continue on.
