| £11 return coach from Sheffield with National Express. Can't argue really.
An hour and half longer than the train but that's just more time to sleep off the beer.

| Staying at the County Hotel, Bloomsbury £43.00 a night. Fleas extra, prices on request!
Five minutes walk from the Salaam|Namaste. The best Indian in the capital by a mile (imho of course). Hoping for a celebratory drink in the Lamb, followed by a first class ruby after the final.
Travelling down by coach on Friday morning. Will probably go to the London Skolars v Oldham game on Friday evening. Returning by train on Sunday.

Maybe, maybe not.
Setting off at 6.30 and returning at 20.00 so hardly peak times.
The low price I assume reflects the standard of NE passengers, which going by previous coach trips is one step up from the average Cas fan.

I travel to Birmingham on the train one week in four - its £69 return and is exactly two hours station to station which is approximately half an hour quicker than by car at at roughly the same cost.
Last week I checked National Express for a comparison, tickets to Birmingham are £10 (one way) so thats a good start - total journey time (one way) four and a half hours.
I don't know how they manage to string that journey out to four and a half hours, the worst B'ham trip that I did in the car saw me sitting stationary in roadworks on the M1 for an hour and a bit and I still got home in three and a half hours.
Maybe you have to push the bus all the way to Birmingham ?

Very deep.
It's on St Ann Road - inbetween Wembley and Brent, I've heard.

| Just booked the Hotel Russell for Friday through to Monday via Super Breaks.
Super Breaks advantage is the cheap rail ticket which is only £36 return (Standard Class from Wakefield Westgate). Super Breaks has an offer on for the Russell, for those of you that are going to stay through till Monday from Friday, and you get the Sunday night half price. So it was £89.50 per person per night Friday & Saturday and £44.75 per person per night for Sunday.
Then we got an additional 12% discount on the whole lot through Mrs Armadillo's corporate discount.
So, for a Bank Holiday weekend in August, in a good quality, well located 4* hotel, it is quite a good deal.

It is not that near the Strand, so you would have to drop off and then get the tube (or walk, maybe 15 mins) back, but Bloomsbury Square underground car park is very good and cheap for London as it is operated by Camden Council. It is around £25 for the day and they have a great evening rate of about £7 IIRC. Most of the other car parks in central London are operated by commercial companies and you are looking at £35 to £40 a day at least.

| Specially for McF - Bloomsbury Square car park has a double helix design and it is quite sort of 'trippy' to get your head around!

Break/clutch, Hand break on, into neutral, engine off, lock car, walk away from your car, don't look back.
Cross your fingers it's still there when you get back.
Ok?
