What we as Leeds fans have witnessed from this squad consistently thus far this year is not what we know they are capable of.
Now we know you and Wire have improved but we also know that ours and even Saints' decline isn't anywhere near the level that's predicted by the doom-mongers or experts from other teams.
You won and deserved it but like many have said we have every right to be confident in our squad and writing us off and declaring yourselves the new world power is ridiculous.

No, we are bothered about the Challenge Cup, becuase after winning three Super League titles in a row, we need a new....er....challenge.

The team has been punching above its weight, I agree. But I think we are a better drilled and better coached side than the other teams, although on paper i'd say we are the weakest of the 4. however I think the youngsters that have come into our side are better than the other 4, and that has given a depth and strength to our squad that is unmatched imo.

Next year I do believe on paper we should be near enough the best on the league, with the 3 imports already signed up including 1 or 2 more signings it will be thoroughly Mcguires team, and a squad whos contracts have all been handled my leneghan.

Im enjoying this year, but still not expecting us to win anything other than the hubcap, however next year Im expecting big things as we are adding real quality and addressing our weaknesses in the team, including our fantastic academy players to be a year older with further experience.

However, I still believe the OP is ridiculous. We just beat a team who were kept in the game by the ref (imo) and we could and probably should have won by a lot more. We are still missing a couple of key players (McIllorum, Roberts, Prescott, O'Carroll).

The Challenge Cup has always been taken seriously by the club, it's players and by some if not all of it's supporters. That only ever changes (for some supporters) once Leeds are eliminated from the comp which is understandable.

For this particular group of players I believe it represents the missing piece of the jigsaw. Multiple Champions for Leeds they may be, World Club Challenge winners for Leeds they may be but Challenge Cup winners they are not and time is running out for the collective group achieving it together.

Just re watched the game. Wigan only gained terriotorial advantage on the back of our indiscipline. I have no fear about them. The only team who has a real chance of beating us in the big games are Saints. The Wigan fans are kidding themselves if they think otherwise. They are all a bit twitchy though

leeds may have won back to back grand finals but they will never ever be looked upon as a truly great side like wigan sides of the late 80s and 90s.even the saints sides after that are more thought of than this leeds crop.

And don't believe the hype, Satins were never as good as Phil and Eddie made out. If they were, they might have been champions more than once in the last 7 years.

The only team to win three on the bounce is Leeds. We also hold the record for most points in a Super League season, and biggest winning margin of the final table. And, whenever we've finished top of the table, we back it up by winning the Grand Final. Heck, some teams that finish top don;t even bother getting to the final in the first place.
