Buderus of Senior captain for the game.
If we recall McShane from his loan for this 1 game, can he then go back again after? It would be a waste to recall him for 1 game if he cannot return. Thinking long term it would be best to let McShane stay where he is getting minutes on the pitch.'"
Ok....but then recall McShane full time and give Hull FC Diskin !! Maybe being in business makes me too ruthless....BUT McShane is our future, Diskin isn't.
Why should one of our rivals (don't forget they are still above us after their signifiant win over Saints) benefit at OUR expense ?? Surely time to pull the plug on that one.
Quite like the idea of Buderus being captain.

| If Ali misses this one ill be really worried about his fitness and fatigue, and that could be what tells me that he wont be here next season. Didnt realise that Mcshane was back from Hull so im sure he will have a part to play in the game, possibly SH. all in all lets hope the youngsters do us proud.
Change my squad to:
Lee Smith
Scott Donald
Brett Delaney
Keith Senior
Tom Bush/Michael Coady
Brent Webb
Paul McShane
Kylie Leuluai
Danny Buderus
Ryan Bailey
Jamie Jones Buchanan
Carl Ablett
Chris Clarkson
Greg Eastwood
Ian Kirke
Ali Lauitiiti/Jay Pitts/Luke Burgess
Matt Diskin

| I sense you don't want Diskin around anymore. I can be perceptive like that.
The wing position can be filled by Coady or Clarkson who have both done so fairly adequately this season.
Bush hasn't taken his opportunity and I would be concerned in offering that particular gift to Brian McDermott.

What?
Lauitiiti has a torn calf muscle. Sometimes it's better to break something than tear a muscle.

Lol. Just think there should be NO room for sentiment when running a business...and Leeds Rhinos is a business.
Believe it or not I DO wish the guy well (and would ideally keep him at the club)...BUT there are better options for running a successful business here and too many seem to be blinkered by sentiment/nostalgia.
I work in a Sales environment....you are only as good as your last sale (It does NOT matter if you made a big sale numerous years ago but are not performing today as well as others today !!!!!)
P.s. I forgot about Coady....better than Bush for me too on the wing....BUT he is still not a winger is he ? Clarkson certainly isn't either. Are we really so desperate
P.p.s. I didn't notice the existing thread on this topic...can somebody bind the two together ??.

Clarkson shows some promise but is not a winger for Christ's sake!!!!!!!!!!
Bush is presently too weak in defence.
So Coady has to cover the wing position and following his performance last night we have a real problem to solve.

Hes had this for how long now? He came back for the Blackpool game and then disappeared off the scene again, I hope he is back asap though.

I never thought he was but that hasn't prevented him covering the position this season.
As you go on to point out, there's no obvious 1st choice option once you rule out Hall, Smith, Donald, Watkins and Jones-Bishop.

Maybe Jamel Chilsholme may get called in? I think it will be Coady though.

He'll be back when he's ready and i'm surprised you mention "fatigue" in your post above WTF?
He'll surely be fresh as a daisy having missed so many games and tbh i don't think his injuries this year have/will play a part in his retention/release for next year because i'm pretty sure GH and Bluey already knew who they wanted before his current injury run.

| Is McShane confirmed back? Webb will cover half back more than adequately, his miss pass to the wing is a big part of his game. If no McShane then Buderus, Ablett and Diskin can all help out at half back through different stages of the game, it doesn't need to be one set player.

Do you have the latest odds on Bradford missing out on the play offs again this season? Could be worth a few bob.

So would I. I think it should be the only option, unless there is an out and out halfback in the academy who can play there.
I will despair If we play a second rower there.

That is the most dissapointing thing to be happening this coming weekend. Not that we have to play inexperience, or that we have top line players missing, but that we could end up with him again as Captain.
The guy simply does not deserve it, whether for one game or not. He displayed earlier in the season he is not captain material. He does far too many stupid things (discipline and defensive wise) to have the captaincy.
Captains should lead by example. Webb, Buderus, JJB would be far better options IMO.

Buderus certainly would be the obvious choice ...
...But yes, I think it'll be Captain Keef.

I'd go for Webb, as he's more likely to play the full 80 than the others

| No quarrels with Ablett getting a go at 6 to be honest.
He played a fair chunk of his Academy/reserve rugby there and has good hands for a back rower.
It's only the presence of the incumbent 6, 7 and 13 that have meant him changing his game as he's become a fixture in the first team.

So Senior does too many stupid things discipline and defensive wise to deserve the captaincy yet you put Webb forward as an alternative!

Yep, and?
What I actually said though is that captains should lead by example. I think you would find Webb's odd discipline indiscretions come at a point of him been last line of defence and stopping tries, rather than needless.
What he does with ball in hand however, and what he will probably be doing Saturday from half back, is organising the side.
