I can just imagine the current rentee of the premises moaning like hell one day about how the RFL logo is still etched into the glass after all these years, when one of his secretary's walks over to the window and states, "Oh its no etched, its just a blind, look"

I went in most of the above establishments when they were at their roughest , and some of them were nowhere near as bad as they were said to be .
I have seen people waving guns around in the streager (have waved one around myself at the lights ) . The Barcelona was a kids pub . UD (VD) was full of wannabes fron Bramley and Armley . Warrens was ok if you didn't mind a good old brawl . Villager and Cardigan at Bramley were ok places to go if you knew everyone in there . Greene was ok . The dives in the city centre were fun places to hang out (especially the Whip) .Hayfield wasn't too bad . ... I could go on ..

Only bouncer I remember there was Girbon (sp) I think was his name, once played cricket with him on a company day thing where one of the employees knew him and he pretended to work for us. He looked like Viv Richards only twice his size. Good at cricket too.

The Strega was a favourite watering hole of many an off-duty and on duty CID squad member. Usually visited after either the Fforde Grene or the Gaiety had shut up shop for the evening and before the likes of Cliff's, 99's, Powell's and Sonny's really got into the swing. OO happy memories of living in and around Chapeltown and Harehills.

Aye the one at Bramley town centre. Lovely place now they have spent a bit of ££££ getting it up to speed.

Always was a good pub, my brother once pulled pints there for a while when in between jobs and touring the world, never a one for refusing a free pint I could be found in there from time to time during that period

Now a Timothy Taylor's pub I think. Not sure how many of those there are in Leeds.
