| Andy Kirk. Acadamy lad, around 2001. Seemed like he might be quite good, but wasn't. Not heard of him for about 4 years now

He did, looked good in a poor Leeds play off campaign IIRC.

Indeed. What happened to him - did he go to Wakefield, possibly to be replaced by some kolpak stiff or other in a bid to avoid relegation?

We had Jackson at the time then Mears then Diskin, relegation was never a threat.

| John Fairbank, of the farming Fairbanks, looked the business when he came into the team, but disappeared quickly. Growing up with Karl couldn't have been easy, but what happened to him?

I know. I was referring to the club he went on to play for after leaving Leeds.

| Some of these ex-Leeds players are so obscure they never made a first grade appearance for the club.

| Eddie Rombo.. I remember an interview after his only(?) first team try at Cas, where he said in a thick African accent, "there's more to come"...only there wasn't!

Indeedy - I'm surprised you didn't volunteer Errol Johnson's name as a contribution.

Bargain
Between him, Mark Wilson, David and Wayne Heron, Roy Powell, Jon Scales, Paul Cook and Paul Medley we were your feeder club for a spell in the late 80s and early 90s weren't we?

| Ah yes, Lorenzo Marquez-Laynez yet another hooker, from Humberside I think.
I could be wrong but I think he may have had a spell at ' Her Majestys Pleasure'
W've had a fair few hookers down the years, ones I recall are
Tony Crosby
George Shepherd
Tony Fisher
Colin Maskill
Bob Morris
Wardy
and all the lesser lights mentioned in this thread

True and apart from Errol all those players had the pleasure of experiencing a win for Northern against the Loiners, even chuffin Mark Wilson!
Of those players I'd say the best we got were Powell, Dave Heron qand Medley. Scales was ok for a couple of seasons too.
Dave Heron might have been 34/35 when he joined but he was still class.

I could never understand why you wouldn't pay the entire transfer fee for Heron, meaning his moustache stayed at Headingly. I think the cleaning staff us it these days, if something needs a right good scrubbing.
