| Sinfield definately MOM. Not a Leeds fans but it still rankles with me why so few Leeds fans turned up for his testimonial a few seasons back.

| Having no Sky+ I've not watched the game afterwards but last night felt that Sinfield and Burrow kicked the living daylights out of Saints. Put that on top of an immense defensive performance, his leadership and constant talking to the players and pushing them at every opportunity, and Sinny was easily MoM.
I also though Senior, JP as usual, JJB, Bailey, Diskin and Hall put in excellent performances, Hall and Webb being there for everything that Long kicked at them.
From Saints, I thought Graham, Long, KC, Gilmour and Eastmond put in stand out performances. Graham showed before the hooter how much it hurt him to lose again, the guy wears his heart on his sleeve, but turns his blood to water week in week out, and I'd love to see him do that with JP and Moz for England this autumn.
Cometh the hour, disappeareth the man, as Pryce must have as his slogan. Long had to do everything with Eastmond as his assist last night in attack. Gilmour put some excellent runs in and both Long and Gilmour will be missed badly at Knowlsey Rd next season. While no longer the world's best, KC will also leave a massive gap in the Sts team when he retires.
Maybe it fits well for Saints to have an excuse in Bentham's decision, but there's nothing to suggest that a disallowed try and a Saints set of six would have resulted in anything better than five drives and a kick down the throat of Webb, as we saw the rest of the game. For Iestyn and Wobbie to proclaim Saints would have gone on to win off the back of that decision is laughable.
An excellent performance from two excellent teams, but the better off the two teams season long won it last night.

| Quote ="batleyrhino"If there is a better captain in professional sport, I'd like to see him (or her).
Sinfield typifies everything good about Leeds, he's a very capable player, but is more than happy for any other team mate to take the plaudits. He seemed almost embarrassed to pick up the Harry Sunderland trophy last night, but definitely deserved it.
Normally I would say that players don't really make good coaches at the club they had success with, as the game changes in the time between them playing and coaching, but they want to coach the team to play as they did. In Sinfield's case, he simply must be a future Leeds coach.'"
Spot on.
I also loved "Che" Sinfield's speech at the end...

As Sinfield is on the record as seeing his playing career out at Leeds why does anybody waste their time still asking this lame question?

No – it's because muscle bound men in tight lycra only appeals to niche market.
Maybe you advertised the event in the wrong places – try Googling "Spandex" + "Fetish" that should give you a good idea of the demographic to aim your marketing at.

| Regardless of how well he played (I've no qualms with him getting MOM) it's nice to see a bloke win with a bit of class. His speech and general demeanour at the end of the game was that of a decent person.

Personally from a Saints perspective I though MacGuire was awful - he ran like a crab all night.
Sinfield was well and truly deserving of the man of the match. His rugby nous came to the fore once again - kicked us to death and was crafty with the ball in hand. Tough defense too.
He gets stick for not 'doing it' for England - and to that extent people tend to understimate how good a player he is. Week in, week out one of Leeds' best performers and a vital cog in the grand scheme of things.

I'm surprised at that tbh and i won't get into a slanging match but......
In the match i watched,i saw a great all round 6 performance(take note invisible man).
He created 2 tries through his kicking, tackled like a demon and when sinny or burrow didn't have the last trackle option he came up with some good clearing kicks and imo always had the defence on their toes with ball in hand.

| Three titles and Man of the Match in two major finals - pretty much unprecedented for a Leeds captain at least since the creation of the Lance Todd Trophy 63 years ago.
If he retired today, his legacy would stand comparison with any captain in the club's history.
