Incidentally, while I very rarely leave games early (when I attend them) I don't think I want to be your kind of supporter. You seem a bit too evangelical about it all for my taste. I tend to think that people can do what they like provided it doesn't hurt anyone else.

If the matches where a free event I could see reason to clap them off. But we pay for their wages (or attract their wages via sponsorship) which is much more than a clap at the end of 80mins.

On the other hand if you left a free grassroots game early it would be disrespectful not to clap them at the end of 80mins.

I can't remember ever leaving early.
I take the view that there's still rugby to watch whteher your team is winning or losing.

Plus, games like the CC semi against Saints a few years back and the recent win against Wakefield are examples of where leaving early would have meant missing an unexpected turnround.

However, if people want to leave, that's their prerogative.

I am talking to someone who is endeavouring to belittle other posters on the basis of some perceived barometer of loyalty. Said person being someone who missed a major final that his team were participating in for a music concert.

Had you responded with "yeah, I have a life and a music concert was more important than a rugby match" I'd have been impressed. That your response infers you've learned the error of your ways and Rugby is now more important than anything else confirms your original efforts to act superior and confirms that you're not really very "cool" or whatever the kids are saying these days.

I don't go very much anymore due to working Friday and Saturday night to fund my three years of University (without finishing in any debt). I now get called a part timer, but my reponse to that would be that I congratulate the ones (you know who you are) who are in their mid 20's and have dead end jobs and no amibition in life yet least you still go to every game and bleat about it on a mesegeboard.
