Well I dissagree with you. I still think you would have been one of the ones critisizing the player had we lost.

Anyway, regardless of that had a thread not been started praising a player without justification, I wouldn't have even commented on critisizing a player. Whom whilst still the worst of the side on Saturday did put in a bad game, other than the poor attempts at high kicks I mentioned.

Whilst we are giving thoughts on the game. The player I would critisize the most would be JJB. Not because he had a bad game overall, he was all action, but because I thought he was incredibly lucky. We talk quite often on here about the amount of penalties we conceed. This lad is incredibly lucky not to get penalised a lot more often. He is by far the slowest of our players to get off a tackled player, and really pushes the boundaries beyond.

This I completely agree with. He's clumsy when getting off the tackled player, often going back for a second snap. I'd say he's our biggest offender in the penalty stakes, and often when he's dominated the tackle to the extent he doesn't need to slow it down at all.

It all depends on what games you have seen I guess. Personally I think that Meli is poorer under the high ball. No others spring to mind, but then again nor did Donald.

Donald had made 17 errors this season before Harlequins. Meli has made 8 errors.

I am not wanting to continue with putting down Donald, his performances do that alone. But how can his not spring to mind to you, if you are watching Leeds. Fans are clutching their butt cheeks everytime a kick is put up to him.

Nope to be fair. Meli is 5 less.

Donald's mistakes have come from 14 appearances while Meli's have come from 9, so not quite as bad when averaged although Donald's average is still worse.

The guy scores a try, despite looking like he would have been taken into touch, and you're criticizing him because he should have scored it 'more comfortably'.

He's having a stinker of a season so far, can't argue with that, but give the guy a break. We know what he's capable of and hopefully we'll start to see it again.

He should have scored it far more easily. I would have backed myself to finish that one.

Had he not scored it, it was certainly time to cut the losses and kick him out.

Why act all pratty about it? Is it really based on one 5m run? Is it chuff and you know that. It is based on over half of the season gone, and what has come before Saturday. Had he failed with that finish that is exactly what he should have been, finished.

There was nothing hard about finishing that. And it has nothing to do with Donald. I would have critisized any player on that Leeds team, who given that identical opportunity failed to take it.

Scott Donald Has been in the SL dream team for the past 2 years, yes I do think he is having a poor season compared to his usual standards, but to suggest we should let him go if he hadn’t of scored that try on Saturday is a massive over reaction, IMO obviously.

With regards the try, he hesitated, which I agree could come down to confidence, but he made a meal of a try that should have been finished by any player, of course IMO. He certainly should have stuck with his body position at the angle he first ran at going infield. He changed his body position to aim for the corner and this gave the defender the opportunity to push outwards, which put him nearer the touchline.

Just to clarify here. You are telling Scott Donald, a player who has made the SL dream team for te last two years, how to play the game?

Might I ask how many games you have played at the top level in order to qualify to give such advice?

Firstly, tad is wrong in his opening post. Criticism of Donald has been merited this year. I wasn't calling for him to be dropped after last week, i was calling for Watkins and hall to be selected. A subtle difference but a difference nonetheless.

Look at Hall's technique at catching the ball over his head at least he looks like he might actually compete - Donald for me doesn't look like he actually competes for the high ball - high kicks in his direction are now leading to tries at an alarming rate.

Having said that he was a lot better on Saturday than he has been hopefully it will give his confidence a boost

How about checking the help Senior gives Hall when high kicks are put up and compare this to Smith on Saturday.
