played well there for the dogs and has had his 2 best games for Leeds at prop.
So in that position he can play.
Morally I'm torn with this guy's possible inclusion.

Why????
He is a 23 year old who has moved to the other side of the world, missing his family , friends etc plus he has spent part of the season injured which would have been miserable for him.

Look logic de-notes he plays, as we are short at prop.
But if he was to get the nod over Clarkson lets say, it just wouldn't sit well with me.
Blood, sweat and graft should earn selection. Enough said.
Even lesser impressive players like Kirke I would select ahead of him. As are at Leeds and want to play for Leeds.
Do you snub a long standing player for Eastwood who hasn't been that good for us? Who won't be here next year?
And then take into account the Show Pony side - yeah he can pull a play out of the hat but he is prone to mistakes and sloppy stuff. So he's a mixed bag.
So picking a loose canon over a committed Steady Eddie could be a game breaker.
Tough call.

Not saying I dissagree or that you normally have a different opinion, but certain posters usually post a different reasoning to that.
Normally it does not matter what form they are displaying as long as they have proved themselves on the big stage previously. Shame the same reasoning can't be apllied here, just because a player wants to be thousands of miles away.
The club have absolutely no choice with regards this player playing this weekend, even if Peacock was fit and playing. You are only going to win with your best 17 players, and this is something the club really wants.

I’m with you on this one as well. Canadian Ice Hockey legend Bobby Baun once played in a match with a broken ankle. Even with just one ankle available, he was far more superior than the rest of the players on the ice rink and went on to score the game winning goal, in overtime of the Stanley Cup finals.
Kirk Gibson, Jack Youngblood, Kerri Strug and Steve Yzerman all have similar storeys of playing through pain to be in the game. If Peacock wanted to play then he probably could but I think Leeds Rhinos are more botherd about player welfare these days than they used to be..
Waits for McLaren_Field’s big daft lads theory to approve of this..

His attitude towards getting picked for the big game on Saturday doesn't smack of homesickness. I think you are the one who needs to get a grip and stop being niaive about what is really going on with your "hero".

The problem is, few fans actually do really know what is going on. I imagine a few may have heard a snippet of gossip around Headingley and may think they know what is going on, but I doubt anyone who regularly posts on here knows the full story.
When I left the UK for a month's holiday it was all Beastwood this and Beastwood that, and he was even being touted by some as a future Man of Steel. When I returned a few weeks ago he's a suddenly a poor player, not fit to wear the shirt, and he's being booed by sections of the southstand.
I'm sure there is more to the situation than him just being homesick, and I'd imagine while he was recovering from one of his injuries he may have been approached by NRL clubs showing an interest. Even if he does go in the end and hasn't fitted in at Headingley for whatever reason, I have no reason to doubt his commitment to Leeds for this season at least (unless someone can provide evidence to the contrary). He's one of our better players this season when fit, why should he miss out on an important game?
It may yet transpire that Greg has a change of heart and decides to stay at Leeds (or is forced to do so contractually) - does this mean he is to be treated as a leper for the next two years?

| I couldn't care less about Eastwood's commitment to the squad. We need him this weekend, he makes our chances of getting a win greater. But what the hell lets not play our strongest side so we can keep the more committed players happy. Its mens rugby, anyone would think it was the womens netball championship final the way some people are bitching.

| The way I see it, if Eastwood is picked at prop, he isn't being picked ahead of Clarkson anyway, any more than say, Lee Smith would be picked ahead of Clarkson. Clarkson is not in contention for a prop position is he?
I would pick CLarkson ahead of Eastwood at second row, but that isn't what seems most likely to happen.
I'd also take Kirke as my 4th prop. That leaves positions at a premium for 3 second row spots. JJB, Ablett and Ali (if fit) would probably get the nod. That would be tough on Clarkson, but it wouldn't be Eastwood, or Kirke for that matter, who had been picked in his place. Clarkson isn't a prop, so he doesn't feature in the front row selection options.

Listen, I haven't booed Greg, nor was I sycophantic about him before the announcement he wanted out.
I understand these things happen and I understand why they happen. I don't really care if he's genuinely homesick or not. All I care about is whether he produces on the pitch. This season, for a variety of reasons, he hasn't. his commitment to the club is questionable. His commitment in training* is a microcosm of that and may be part of the reason he's been so injury prone and unfit.
However, none of the above gets under my skin. It's just a sad fact of life that he's a big daft lad** with a poor background who hasn't treated a club I love very well. What I don't need, however, is him making shallow rallying statements about putting his hand up for anything to help the club which is, frankly, hypocritical, bull. greg will put his hand up to benefit Greg, no more, no less. So, when I see BS I call BS.
*I've heard this from a definitive source which I won;t name but you can take it or leave it and I won't elaborate.
**With respect to McLaren_Field
