Steve Mcnamara went to watch him 2 weeks ago and he had a blinder according to form [ 2 tries and 7 goals and MOM. Last week Terry Matterson went to watch him, And John Kear has already being told by Leeds that he's staying with them, And this week he has being drafted into the senior team training as cover for Rob Burrow if needed, So there must be some talent in this youngster ? Mcnamara, Matterson, Mclennan, and Kear all seem to want him ????

| Coach McClennan (like coach Smith before him) has shown no desire to move away from the Burrow, McGuire, Sinfield combo in the halves. I looked at this the other week and found only four in two hunderd and forty instances where a n other took a half back start at the club and two of those were V Cas last season when the trio were unavailable.
There remains little point being a reserve halfback at Leeds just now. One day in the future that will change but it hasn't arrived yet.
If Burrow misses the Hull game it might well be an opportunity to have a look at Moore but chances are it will be Sinfield and McGuire in the halves instead.

| Think John Kear has been down a few times to se Gareth as a possible replacement for the allegedly outboud Jamie Rooney for 2010.
Seems a good prospect and the partnership of Burrow and Maguire cant last forever so if i had a fiver to put on it i'd say he would be staying with you, Bluey knows a good player when he sees one.

Burrow and McGuire are both around their mid twenties and are both under contract at Leeds until the end of 2013 at present. If Moore is any good he should probably leave (see Scott Murrell)

He's still only a kid and the loan move back to Whitehaven looks like a masterstroke because he's not going to oust Luke Robinson anytime soon.

| lets face it!! leeds are well short of anything like a top class scrum half if form counts for anything!!
i do think mcguire could be a top class scrum half. imo he could make the switch like marshall has. i think we could see him play a bit of 7 for england as mentioned on the saints board

He could quite easily mature at Whitehaven as long as we hold his contract.

imo his form has been shocking!! his form over the last 18 months imo would say he is far from been a world class scrum half.
you can give it oh dear or whatever you like!! i dont doubt his effort and i love the bloke but he is just not cutting it week in week out.
his passing game is weak, his running game just doesnt have the effect it did, and his kicking game is hot and cold like sinfield and mcguire.
he's not even the best half back in his own comp forget world level, its a more than fair argument to say he's not even the best half back in his own team.
i want!! no, i would love burrow to be world class or even the best scrum half in sl but on this form he is not even close.
as far as you having a pop feel free!! water off a ducks back.

Is a half back only as good as his pack and his runners?

A man of the series in an international competition? A Harry Sunderland performance?
Burrow's form has been patchy this season. Aside from Hall and Peacock the same can be said about every Leeds player.
Burrow is the incumbent GB/England Scrum half, has emerged into a quality international player and his best years are still ahead of him.
Still, his current form isn't "world class" right now and so our moronic fan base say we should get rid.
I know I am a stuck record but we do have the WORST fan base in the league.

Think about that statement. Then think about TVOC's point.
McNally was here. We attempted to sign him. The player saw what TVOC has illustrated and chose to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
Why do Leeds fans think that if our club is interested in signing a player that player will automatically sign for us?
It takes two parties to sign a contract. Leeds were interested. the player wasn't.
We are truly blessed at half back and will be for the foreseeable future. EVERY single club in this league would love to have a settled international half back pairing that have over 150 games together under their belt and at least four more years in them. Every club.

Why is his best years still ahead of him?
Because 20-30 years ago players peaked at an older age?
Not that Burrow should not be different, but you need to watch the modern game Gareth, the majority of players do not get better with age these days. More players make a name for themselves younger then live on the back of that for a couple of years before been found out. Of course there is exeptions, but happens more the other way these days.
Perfect examples, Fielden, Wellens, Horne, Feather .
I was speaking with Danny Brough after the Wakey versus Wigan game the other week, and he pretty much said exactly the same as Sgtwilko. Thats a current player playing against Burrow, said pretty much the same. That he felt Burrows game had been worked out by players, and he seems to have taken one too many hits. Which is why Brough switched back to eligbible to play for England. Of course he could be wrong, and personally I dont think Brough as a cat in hells chance of playing for England. But pretty much what sgtwilko put is spot on at this current time.
And whilst there is plenty of time for him to turn it back around. Why would it be wrong to have some solid competition in the squad for that shirt? You appear to work on the fact that we dont need another player for scrum half because Burrow has that shirt for a few years. I do hope Burrow does not think like that, because is form will certainly not improve with that attitude.
And by the way, I am not for one minute suggesting we dispose of Burrow. But no player should be a cemented place, like you seem to be suggesting.
