I actually think there is some mileage in it if he would agree to a match by match basis.....but he would have to be pretty desperate for those terms .... And maybe he is ? Who in their right mind would give him a long term contract - of even one year - after his recent history ?

Serious question - how do 'match by match' contracts work in respect to the salary cap - do you account for the player playing every match in the season or do you take a gamble and allow maybe 75% of all the seasons games?

Really depends on the player's financial demands. Obviously the least the club can commit to the better. There will be (and should be) a cut off point: the amount of which I obviously have no insight into.

The club holds all the cards in that there is no desperation on its part.....there might be an abundance of said desperation in Calderwood's position. Again I have no idea of the exact circumstances and either way it's not a priority. A passing suggestion only.

No Im being serious. I dont doubt Ainscough is a bit rough around the edges but he knows his way to the try line ok.

I remember, back in the heady days of the mid 2000's when we signed a winger called Scott Donald. All he managed to catch for the first couple of years was a cold. Yet I remember that with some training he turned into a pretty decent winger.

You claim you're being serious but practically every word that follows said claim suggests the opposite.

Ainscough can finish off chances created by others but is mercilessly targeted on defence and under the high ball and that was still the case when he dropped down into the Championship.

Given Leeds already have the positions covered within the 1st choice 17 and options to give fringe backs a run if neccessary I don't see the wing position being strengthened anytime soon.

With BJB back into contention, I see us with Hall, Smith, Watkins and BJB. Not urgent to use cap space in this position and that's not even counting Chisholm, but I'm not sure how far away he is from the first team.

No mention of Bush from what I've seen. Seemed a bit lightweight to me. is he still in the reckoning?

I would agree he looks lightweight at present - think he got young player of the year, or academy player of the year though.

Seen him a few times and in truth Im not convinced. Maybe with a bit more bulk he would look better but you always have to be careful you dont go too mad and he loses some of his pace.

For me he isn't good enough to be near the first team yet (despite a couple of run outs for them)

My points are serious in so much as they are my honest opinion (rightly or wrongly) I just like to add some humour/sarcasm which may not always win me friends but lifes to short to wear a serious face all the time.
