G1 is right what will Kallum be thinking if one week he gets the chance to prove him self and scores twice and was the best winger on the pitch and the other winger (Scotty) has a poor game and hasn't played to the best of his ability all season and the week after still gets picked and Kallum is dropped il tell you what he will be thinking im gonna ring Wakey uo!

I am not more concerned wit Donald's confidence tan I am Watkins, HOWEVER I would put a lot of Donald's lack of confidence down to the fact that he is playing on the wrong side, and does not have a consistent centre partner.

The posisitional thing should really be sorted by now emm,i agree the number of centre partners hasn't helped but his form and confidence has been way off for a while.
Imho 1 or 2 match's in the reserve's where he's not under as much pressure could help regain his confidence whilst also acting as an incentive to get back into the 1st team.

So would I and I have been his staunchest defender BUT, he's had a settled centre partner now for several games and his centre put two tries for him on a plate which he blew.

Worse though, he fluffed a loose ball giving Hudds posession back that led to Hodgson's (Brett) try.

So by settled centre partner, you mean a player that has been playing on the wing himself for the last couple of seasons, so therefore will not necessarily be ad hoc with all aspects of a centre's game?

I think this playing on the wrong side stuff is wearing a bit thin now. He's had long enough and he's good enough to adapt, and some of the mistakes he is making he shouldn't be making on any side of the pitch

To be fair mate it's not just last weeks performance that's brought this kind of discussion about.
Fwiw i'd love him to prove us wrong the sooner the better but if he doesn't pick up his form then it's only fair he should be dropped or "rested" and i know it's pedantic but he made more than 2 errors mate

I agree mate but imo the other players have at some point improved their own performance whereas donald seems to have struggled all season.
I know part of it was the positional switch,the different centre partners and the team overall not performing to their best but i think he should of settled in that position by now and his individual performances should of picked up also.
It can be perceived as scapegoating but i don't think it is and i hope he turns it around because at the moment watkins has come and outshone him,broughton is looking good in a poor hull team and we all know how hall is performing so it's up to him to step up now.

watkins was good against shudds mate, rest of the time he has been very inconsistant. i would agree these were at centre and he will, in time, be a top player.
however to judge him on one game on the wing is wrong

put donald on the left & hall on the right for the rest of the season.....

hall has done very,very well this season and his england call up is fantastic.
what he lacks is speed off the mark which donald has.
senior creates far more and i firmly believe donald would prosper back on the left.
hall is a big, tough lad who when he gets going is quick. i think he would be good on either side

If you pick the team "on form" then scotty doesn't get a look in at the moment which i hope he turns around asap.

very rare a team has two top class specialist wingers, the cap does not allow it, i do notice how many wingers get tackled because they are carrying the ball in the hand they should be handing off with, or stepping inside off the weaker foot. unfortunatley for donald he has drawn the short straw out of two left wingers.

So scotty should be picked every match irrespective of form?????
Whatever the outcome i hope he gets out of his rut and shows the form we know he can.
I personally would give him a week or 2 out of the limelight to regroup and come back stronger.

It makes me laugh that people think that dropping a player will give him more confidence.
