When we were first linked with him I thought he'd be a good signing but we've bought martin and mellor since then so not sure.the article hints that he may play at prop which seems strange given that a lot of his critics think he is too soft.

Anyone know if the greenwood signing is with a view to permanent I like the look of him but is back row where we need strength we really need some big strong front rowers

Good signing I think personally. He’s fallen down the pecking order at Wigan and it would be very difficult for him to get back in and I don’t think his face fits there. I reckon it is going to be a permanent one and we already have anything signing in mind.

I like him. Good player and a Leeds supporter as a lad which is a bonus and should motivate him to do well. Wigan must be happy to let go and can't have him in their plans. Adds a bit of size to the pack be interesting to see if make permanent we still need a big prop though imo

Probably not the case but its a signing that makes you concerned theres something bigger with ward. Mellor, ward, martin, donaldson, greenwood, A & L sutcliffe, thats a lot of potential 2nd rows with prop being the priority, strange one.

Greenwood is a big lad but he is distinctly soft and often goes off injured. Cant see him staying at Wigan beyond this season tbh

Pretty pleased with this. Seems like it’s almost a 2 month trial to see if he’d be any use in the middle. But agree he’s also better than most our BR options. If this pulls off, be interesting to see if we go for field. Him and gale in the halves could be dynamic

I agree. On the face of it we shouldn't need this signing as we have plenty of 2nd rows (greenwood is never ever a prop). The two months suggests he is covering someone which must be ward. I do worry for the lad.

Sounds like Ward struggling getting over the concussion. Unfortunately he just seems to take forever to recover from injuries. Fingers crossed hes good

This is a better signing in the squad filler stakes than the likes of Wellington boot and Donaldson.

If Greenwood had Donaldsons heart and bottle, he would be in the Adrien Morley mould or a Gareth Ellis, he’s not even a Carl Ablett.
I'm not impressed at all, people on here where critical of us not signing him first instead of Wigan, but done nothing there and cannot get in side/not wanted. I will be happy to be proved wrong, could be a shrewd mother be on a player with a point to prove, but see nothing more than Similar ilk to Wellington Albert, Jordan Thompson. For once Think we have better in the reserves in A Sutcliffe, Walters, Mustapha, give then a few 20 minutes in Super league to fill the gaps.

You've got to question our medical staff putting him back on for the second half. Concussion cannot be rushed. I presume Stevie is still doing his strength and conditioning so should be even better when he comes back.

Joe Greenwood is an England international who has olayed in the NRL to put him in the same category as Jordan Thompson is silly, hes not gone great at Wigan (although he played 21 times last year and scored a few trys) and we haven’t handed him a contract

Iv'e played rugby to a good standard and have lots of heart and bottle. Never made me good enough to pull on a Leeds jersey sadly. Sorry but never seeing it with Donaldson but each to their own.

Agree jury is obviously out on Greenwood but he has shown plenty of quality in the past if we can get that out of him it will be good business.

Donaldson doesn't do spectacular things but is an excellent off the bench player who won't take up much cap space the lad gives a breather to the other players runs hard and will tackle anything that moves he's the exact kind of attitude you need around your squad too think he deserves a little more credit tbh
