I used to hear a lot of me and I being used the wrong way round but the latest one, "for mine" is the use of Myself instead of ME.
Where did that come from? People seem to think that saying myself sounds posher........but it's wrong!

I've noticed people from Barnsley say "I oughta have gone to the bank first din't I?

The Hull folk annoy me with the "I aren't joking"

... as do Barnsley and Rotherham people with "it were, weren't it?"

Too many people say "should" when they ought to say "ought".

Something quite cringeworthy that's crept in over the last few years is when a person is asking for something in a shop/pub and says "Can i get ?". It's normally snotty little students or those "young professional" types you see in All Bar One and the like.
Yuppie type, "Can I get two pints of lager"
Me behind the bar, "Of course you can but what do you actually WANT you little ?"

It kind of loses it's impact when the derogatory word is replaced by "little nice guy". What's that all about ?

It's the trendy 'baristas' that annoy me with their use of of 'guys' & 'today'. "How are you guys today?" "Will you guys be dining with us today?" "Do you guys want a pastry with your drinks today?"

This isn't really a "Mis-used phrase or expression" but it's kind of still on topic about language/attitudes that are slipping in more theses days...

Cold callers/salesman have started opening the conversation like they're your best mate. I despise it.
