| Gleeson is a quality centre. Most good judges could see that when he became available last season.

The better judges could see that with his baggage he was not worth touching.

Who's next off the conveyor belt?'"
Next on the conveyor belt would be FWIR, Tom Bush (Fullback is his standard position), Liam Hood (Hooker).

Tell me tvoc, how soon is too soon to be dismissing a player as ever being good enough to play first grade rugby for Leeds?
One game, two games? I'm assuming that's pretty much all you've seen of him at any point in his career?

| Their treatment of Jones-Bishop is in stark contrast to that of Watkins who they presumably see as a potential real deal.
The more I see of Jones-Bishop (the full-back) the more I appreciate Leeds' reservations.

Might assist with a quote...
Quote wing isn't a high priority position in the team and someone has to fill out the numbers. He puts the effort in and is very willing but he just isn't blessed with that star quality.
Not a reaction to last night's performance, just a consistently held opinion.
Not seeking to knock him but I don't see him as a starting 1-7 Leeds player when the squad is up to strength and when it isn't he'll be an adequate stop-gap.'"

| That's one critique (from early 2009 was it?), there were others from the same thread you could have used but I'm sure any interested posters will be able to read them all and judge for themselves.

How does the dummy half get past the bloke in front of him, you know, the one who's just played the ball? Does the previously tackled man disappear up his own asshole? If so were you the previously tackled man?

| Quote ="Matt23"Haha I'd love to watch the first marker go left everytime and the second one go right. There'd be an interesting mix of players defending in the middle by the end of a set.'"
Not if the players were coached on how to defend this way. Each player would go to first or second marker depending on if they should be to the left or right of where the ptb is.
Your second comment, as G1 has already said, is spot on, and illustrates nicely the biggest issue I have with our defence so far this year. 1 on 1 we are ok (good even) but the communication between defenders is terrible at times. This is also down to coaching, or should I say lack of it...

It was from last season, yes. The season when Hall earned interantional honours and was probably the best winger in the whole competition.

| February 2009. Brrr.
Edinburgh was the turning point in Hall's season for me. When Lauitiiti released him down the wing and he took on and skinned Greenshields, taking many a good judge by surprise. He never looked back after that score. Reminded me of Jim Fallon going the length at Don valley to everyone's surprise, giving him the confidence he'd lacked in his own pace.
Hall has made the best of his abilities to this point although he's suffered this season from a diminished left side threat posed by Leeds generally. Still the first named outside back on the team-sheet.

| All players are stop gaps until a better one comes along. Sometimes they don't come along or are overlooked when they do and then you have to endure a stop gap career. I'm sure we can all think of our own appropriate examples to insert here.

No. Grand Final match winner Lee Smith played full back in the 2008 season, a season in which he and Hall shared time on the right wing.
In 2009 Smith played most of his rugby in the right centre and Hall on teh left wing.

I would think that when you'd had your a55 handed to you so comprehensively as you did here you'd slope off but it appears you're back for more.

| Fancy answering the question or would that be too much to ask, because you can't. I'll repeat it just in case you have forgotten.
How does the dummy half go straight through the middle when the man who has just played the ball is stood there?
btw, if that's your idea of "handing someone their ar5e" it's back to troll school for you sunshine...

| I would like to see Smith given a run at left centre which will suit him better that on the right.
