He's aggressive, and really drives the ball in. He just lacks the bulk at the the moment, but he's a baby for a prop, and he has a big frame so I think with time on the weights, and more minutes on the field he'll develop into a fine prop for us. Obviously though a young prospect comitting his future to the club is seen as a negative by many for some bizarre reason.

Wigan have looked after Wigan. You cant argue with that.

Taylor was only leaving for 1 year to go on loan to get him off the cap.

Would Wigan rather strengthen rivals Leeds or let him go the mad doctors?

This sums up perfectly how I feel about our great club at the moment, Clearly GH put all his eggs in one basket thinking he was getting mossop. I hope he has something up that massive sleeve of his cos I'm feeling very disappointed at the moment compered to this time last week. But I have renewed my season ticket and will be purchasing the new home shirt (I will like it eventually), and I will be in the Southstand at every home game (and most away games) nxt season!!!!!!!!!!

Makes you wonder if the Sleeve is losing his touch. IF he really had put all his eggs into the Mossop basket and IF he let other options slide by in the expectation of signing the ex Eels match dodger, it would almost seem like he had been done up like a kipper, by some clever beggar

I have a membership question - am posting it here because I guess it is arguably squad-related.

Is the gold membership upgrade worth the money? I got Long Bar access once last season on a free upgrade, though as I go alone to games I would only really go to listen what was said by people post-match rather than as a social activity per se.

Also, on the website it says everyone will be getting new membership cards in 2015 that will last until the start of the 2018 season. So my second question is, what happens if you get a gold membership for 2015 if the card you get is for 3 seasons? Will this mean you are tying yourself in to a gold membership for 2016 and 2017 too, or do you think you would be issued a new one if you revert back to silver in 2016 / 2017?

We know what GH is like. Not quite as good as the gullible make out. He will wait just a bit nearer that season ticket renewal deadline.

Not sure if it smacks of desperation annoucing the Singleton deal.
But it sure looks like pretty poor management to wait until now to secure a prop and be turned down it seems by Mossop who is slightly above average and to lose out on Taylor who I think would be a worthwhile loan signing.
It is clear GH/BMcD need to sign a prop.
If they knew Bailey was going to be released as seems to be the case.
Then why the hell did they not look at recruiting a replacement at the end of last season ?
On the other hand maybe they did but nobody was suitable.
All in all very dissapointing so far.

Kirke yes for sure.......we all knew his lack of capabilities and his blocking the prospects of a potentilally much better individual in the shape of Singelton made no sense to me.
I was more on the fence over Bailey, but yes on the whole I was disappointed last season in him too (and not sad to see him moved on).

The point is both Peacock and Lleulai are both now yet another year older (with at least one overdue his self announced intention to retire) ....with Singelton given very little opportunity to show his long term mettle. I hope he can in 2015. Looks like he will be thrown in the deep end to sink or swim. Maybe not though...who knows with our esteemed coach. He might instead prefer to play a one legged JJB or Delaney at prop before he utilises Singleton.

With the 2 "senior" props being moved on it would have been prudent to have ONE decent replacement lined up don't ya think?

Were their departures known of before the end of last season or not? It smacks of very poor management whichever way you look at it IMO (the club itself obviously recognised the need for one 'decent' experienced signing but has obviously failed in its objective by leaving things apparently way too late)
