Mr Armadillo and I have actually corresponded in the past regarding culinary recommendations and I was the recipient of some invaluable advice for where to eat in another City.

My expertise on this subject matter can be questioned but the breadth of my experience cannot.

Red wine drinking prevents cancer, everyone knows that, ask the French, they have the lowest cancer rates in Europe, obviously the highest for liver disease, but there is always a trade off!

As Mr G1 said I, through practical application of culinary recommendations (in another city, which is also located in another country!), have come to trust his opinion on what is good food. This is mainly because we did agree with each other, so in true Mrs Thatcher style, that makes him a right thinking person in my book and you will just have to take my word that he his indeed an expert in such matters! As he said also, his breadth of experience is without challenge.

So it was not blowing any smoke, I was just ensuring that a confirmed culinary expert (see above) was going to reply on the thread I started. I also, being a fair and equal person, invited anyone else who thought that they could potentially lay claim to be given the expert seal of approval, based on my defined criteria (also see above), to proffer their opinion.

I did exclude Damo because while I am partial to a good 'full English' not on a Saturday night out in Leeds.

River Plate steak house in Leeds do some pretty tidy steaks, if a little pricey.

Two 2 course meals plus a few drinks set me back £96.

I went to Goucho's off Regent Street, London tother week. Pricey, uber trendy, Argentinian Steak House. Someone else was paying



Fantastic Steak.

But the best steak I've ever had was last year in a private members club in London the name of which escapes me but I will look it up.
