| Quote ="Biff Tannen"If JJB is going round again then he should be feet up for the next 2 weeks. probably Watkins and Hall too as they will likely figure until back end of november for England. I would probably look at keeping McGuire in cotton wool and give a couple of the props like Galloway and Cuthbertson an extended rest. The rest probably play.'"
This is the right sentiment.
We shouldn't make wholesale changes but where players ate carrying injuries or need a rest we can now do this.
It's also an opportunity for fringe players to get game time and experience.
For me its a no brainer .

| If they are injured (McGuire, delaney) I agree they should not and I think will not play. However, if they are just a tad tired, they should still be playing at full tilt for mine.
3 reasons. Firstly, they need confidence going into next year, playing a makeshift side and getting stuffed by hudds and Leigh will be a poor way to end a very poor season.
Secondly, they have had challenge cup rest weeks already plus for cuthbertson and others he will finish about 4 weeks earlier than last season as he played v New Zealand.
Finally, the u18's got over 50 points put through them v Salford u19's at the weekend. Filling the team with them and fringe players will not beat Huddersfield. They would get slaughtered.

So you are saying that the top 4 dont get the SL tv funding and positions 5-8 dont win money based on their finishing position? Interesting...

| Just as I thought, a little twist from you. 1-4 get there share of the TV monies for 2017. 5-8 get a position related share of the TV monies for 2017. See ya ya argumentative bugger.

| Ahh the ever important distinction between money won on the basis of success and prize money.
Great contribution there...

| You are extremely boring Smokey, so by your definition then 1-4 get prize money too. You didn't say that the first time either. So I gauge my contribution as being more factually correct than yours

No, by my definition the clubs in positions 1-4 get nothing in monetary terms for their position in the middle 8s. Because they don't. Next season they will be due their 1/14th share of SLE revenue for participating in SL for the year 2017.
Clubs 5-8 however will not be members of SL next year and so wont be due that money. They will instead receive the standard funding from the RFL for the year 2017 plus a payment based upon their finishing position for the year 2016. That will be money won on the basis of success, or in common parlance, prize money.

| Where do you think that funding comes from in the first place. Anyway well done Leigh on your 'prize' money of 1.5M based on difference between last year and this for finishing in the top 3 of the qualifiers table.
Sorry to the Leeds fans for this completely pointless argument but because it was STA I had to see if he still liked the last word in whatever he posts about....he does

| Nobody rested for Sunday, Moon back in squad if we turn up with right attitude we should beat Hudds, just mention aswell Garbutt not in squad again he was left out last week apparently through injury must be something proper instead of a niggle if he's missing two weeks in a row.

That is a strange one.
Unless doubts over Moon with Keinhorst moving into the pack Brsicoe to centre which doesnt make sense either.
I`m now answering my own questions
Keinhorst straight swap for Moon if he does not make the 17.
Sutcliffe could be injured Watkins to FB

Maybe he planning on playing Moon in the halves again? Watkins maybe rested? Keinhorst to play in the 2nd row this game? A few ways he could go.

| Actually, just watched McDermott's press conference. He said Moon will be on the bench. McGuire and Delaney have a chance for the Leigh game but he didn't sound convincing (I don't see the point of risking them if it's that touch and go personally). Doesn't think Garbutt will make the Leigh game and Mitch Achurch was just described as "unavailable"

That's pushing it regarding our form saying it's been as poor as Hudds. They've been 20-0 and 40-10 down at HT in both their meaningful matches in this Middle 8's. Hudds do often show up against us especially at their own place but they've never been in this bad a place in recent times.....yes you would expect a reaction from them, but I also would've expected them to not crumble to concede 48 points in 48 mins against Leigh in a very important game.
Does look like it'll be the first Huby vs Ferres clash. One poster on the Hudds board said they should go out and smash Ferres early.....think it'll be a big mistake for Hudds if they do get drawn into the "Ferres issue" sideshow as they should just be focusing on the win.

| Some of the usual bizarre selections
Ryan Hall rested, surely he wants to play to try cling on to his England spot, can someone explain that? If you want to rest someone to give Handley a game why not Watkins who has played every game?
We also have only one recognised prop starting and 2 outside backs on the bench
I know this game is meaningless for us but these decisions show that Mac is still not learning lessons and is gonna make the same mistakes in competitive games next year

Hall has a knock and isn't risked, right thing to do not to play him if you have an able replacement in Handley.
With regards to the props, surprised Mullally doesn't make the game if we're down to 3 props but perhaps has a knock or just isn't impressing. After that we don't really have anybody else left considering the u19's are playing in a playoff semi right now away to Wigan and they've decided not to take anybody out of that game to call up to the senior squad.
So with the exception of Mullally coming in for a backrower it's pretty much what we had left to go with without taking risks.
