How can Coady be rated as worst leeds player ever when he's only had a couple of outings??

Should be more than enough to judge given his other choice played once for Leeds.

Which technically means that despite being fit all season, he was only considered good enough to be selected once against lower league opposition in the Challenge Cup. Probably decent enough evidenence to consider him as one of the worst!

Yes, but he did allow for a journo in Open Rugby to tell of an incident in the press area at a Leeds match, when Mike was taken off for Mick Shaw.
'Who's gone off?'
'Forshaw, for Shaw'
'What??'
'Forshaw, for Shaw!'

that makes no sense at all. he was brought in to provide back up for the team. it would be like us saying that all the youngsters we've released been the worst players leeds have ever had. they're not they just didnt manage to make the squad

That's not quite the way I recall his time at Leeds. Joined the club pre-season 2006, left to go on loan to Wigan in April, quickly followed by Leeds agreeing to his release to help out Wigan in a desperate season for them, at which point Wigan gave him a contract where he was a regular for the remainder of the season for the JJB outfit.
I agree he was a peculiar signing and no great loss when he left.

| Vince Fawcett.
Came on in one game as a sub, dropped the ball infront of our posts and then Dougie took him off again. All in the space of 60 seconds. In fairness, his hands were later patented by Tefal as a coating for frying pans, so I guess he was eventually some use to somebody.
Graham Holroyd gets my "all the talent, none of the temprement" vote.
Worst Aussie goes to Wally Fullerton-Smith. Not just an Origin forward but a full Kangaroo in the days of some of the greats. Peter Smith was dreadful, but he was a nobody in Australia as well.

Dougie's quote was something along the lines of 'If I'd had a gun I would have shot him!'.
It was at Hull KR, but we still came back to win. The winning try was either either Stephens or Gregory, and which ever one it wasn't set it up.

I always thought that the above quote from Douglas was aimed at John Bentley rather than Vince Fawcett?
Or did he say it about both players?
I was there that day, and.........If i remember correctly, Bentley kicked the ball out on the full straight from a scrum, and in the dying minutes too, against Warrington at Wilderspool
They subsequently scored from this mistake to win the game......hence that quote!
TVOC please help

| At 1st grade level for Leeds Paul Worthy made just the one appearance, in the run on side away at Belle Vue - 25th March 1990, Wakefield 17 Leeds 36, a John Bentley hat-trick proving decisive.
Worthy was a decent enough young prop in the 'A' team but Leeds didn't really promote from within back then in that position preferring to import experience from elsewhere.

Here it is but you're not going to like it.
As it happens and by pure coincidence the game at Wilderspool to which you refer was the game before Paul Worthy's solitary Leeds appearance where Bentley partially redeemed himself with the hat-trick.
The Warrington game was a proper sickener as Leeds were trying to chase down Wigan in the title race at the time. In a game where they were hammered in the penalty count by John Holdsworth (10-3) and had Paul Dixon sin-binned for next to nothing after he tangled with Tony Burke on the ground. Leeds had produced the one moment of quality as Rob Ackerman got Carl Gibson away to finish from 45 yards. Then John Bentley on the second tackle went to dummy half (15 out from the Leeds line) and hoofed it directly into touch. From the scrum and after a couple of drives Mike Gregory fed Des Drummond and he was over in the corner. To add insult to injury the conversion from Paul Bishop sailed wide but up went the flags to make it 9 - 6 and reduce Leeds' chances further of rescuing anything from the afternoon.
Now here's the bit you're not going to like - the Leeds coach that season was David Ward.

| After Bentley's hat trick the following week at Belle Vue (mentioned by TVOC), John apologised on Scrumdown for, as he called it, dropping a bollock at Warrington.

Wasn't the next game after that the one where we put 50 on Saints despite having Cruikshank sent off early doors?

| And wasn't the game after that at Central Park where whenever Wigan were stretched they'd stand off-side and Whitfield never played an advantage all night.
