I disagree - this is the brightest talent around in a key position - the monies talked about will not be much different to the monies the likes of McGuire and Burrow would have been on at his age.

This is a very short career even if he earns at the quoted level for 10 years he will only earn what a chavball player can earn in a year.

For Salford it might be a gamble worth taking, and building a side around. For a top club though, it would seem ridiculous to try and integrate that sort of resource into a team with other top players already.

Let's turn this on its head would he be contributing any less to the team than any of the big earners - especially if he is the playmaker - surely he should be rewarded equally as well - age is purely a number.

As far as I read it I don't think gotcha is questioning his talent rather the risk of tying up so much money on an "unproven" player, can Myler keep this form up for more than 6 months? can he step up and do it in semi finals, grand finals etc. Lots of very promising young players fade away.

Good example. When he was 19 he really looked like he could be a top player. I think some personal problems played a part in his not really fulfilling that potential (or so I heard, could be rubbish) which is a shame.

Myler is all class and there will be a big market for him.

The England game has certainly done his rep no harm. Had McGuire not injured his arm nobody would've been talking about Myler. McGuire was sublime in the 20 or so mins before his injury and ran the show.

However, Myler IS the real deal and market forces will dictate a move. Salford will have to accept that reluctantly and cash in whilst he is such hot property.

Morley, King, Briers, monahan, parker, higham, carvell, mathers etc.. i suppose they've let go gleeson who will have been on a fair whack but they must be sailing close to the wind cap wise.

Only thing I would say there is that he is the star of the Bradford side, and therefore ok to use him and build the team around him.

Which is why I said I could understand Salford doing it with Myler. But thought the money was too much for Myler when intergrating him into a team with big stars already. A large chunck to tie up to somebody unproven at this stage.
