Should he be found innocent then a strongly worded release can be made but the club cannot prejudge the investigation even certain members of the press can.

This is exactly why I am disappointed in the club. Rubbish to say they should wait. They should be immediately giving support to its player and publicly stating it's position on the persecution handed out to the player through the press and social media. They can cover their backside if they like by also declaring they support any investigation if necessary, but ensure that the players reputation is maintained until proven otherwise.
