Great finish and a great display from Glenn. Was hoping Adam would get a decent run out to try get himself in the 23, maybe he'll get longer against Japan? But then again the Japan game should really be the starting 11 we're having at the WC itself. So the players who wanted to impress have all probably had their chance/not really had a chance. Hope Carrick gets dropped, I hate the guy but was he really that useless last night? Someone will have to tell me if he was cos all I ever see is a slow, useless lummax me.

Plus points from last nights game? Rooney finishing 90? Possibly a plus point, he had afew touches of class. Think Gerrard played better than he has done recently in an England shirt. King got himself on the plane and finished the game too another plus point, but like the commentator said, it's how he feels this morning that really counts.

Things we already know - Walcott can skin players, sometimes really easily. And he's proper fast. Really fast. But that's it. No end product, he never seems to pick the right man out, or waits and gets tackled or just cant deliever a decent pass or cross at all. Massive shame really, hopefully he can improve. I thought Milner did more than enough to cement a place in the squad too.

Oh and that if Meccico play like that at the WC, they'll have plenty sent off.

Did Carrick manage to pass to an England player last night? The softcock didn't manage to make any tackles either. Stevie Me, even without Lampard in the team, was as influential as ever in an England shirt.



I can't believe Johnson didn't get more game time - he should be going to the WC and needs to have more minutes beforehand to get experience with the team.

Oh and Capello, just in case you didn't realise, Rooney is a striker and has had a fooking good season in front of goal. If you want the best from him and want Ingerland to have a slight chance of winning the competition, you need to stick him in his position and not on the left wing.

Wenger has had Walcott for 4 years now (or 5?) and he hasn't really cracked on to be the player we all thought he was going to be at this stage, still young - still plenty of time to improve I know, but I'm sure we all thought he'd be better than what he is currently. So what can Capello do with him in 4 weeks that Wenger hasn't managed to do in 4 years?

Hoping he takes A.Johnson and he's our surprise package. Like Owen in 98 & Gazza in 90.

Thing with Walcott is, what in his game in 4/5 years has improved? I think part of his development may be down to not being in the Arsenal squad every game but then again he is being coached by one of the best with young players

Think Walcott has been unlucky with injuries too. He's still young, hopefully he'll get better. I think we're lucky we have the wide players we do have. If we start Walcott, we've got Lennon to bring on and run at tired defenders, or the other way round and the same can be said with Johnson & Joe Cole on the left, if they do and that's where he sees Joe Cole playing.

Maybe he's saying Walcott hasn't developed but should have because he's got one of the best managers in the world managing him?

Thing is, does he think Gerrard and Lampard can now work together in the centre of the park? If not, does that mean Gerrard moves to the wing?

I hope he does play Gerrard & Lampard. I'd play them in the middle, depending on Barrys fitness though. If Barry does get fit. I'd go with something along the lines of;

Or whichever widemen Fabio chooses. I just put Lennon and Cole there as an example. A formation similar to what was successful in qualifiying.
