He has been very good for most of the season, think a lot of fans just look at the tries scored column for backs and then just write them off if they’re not scoring loads of tries

Seems odd giving him 4 years when Austin, who has probably been our best player this season so far, reportedly only been offered 1 year.

I think he has been great ,always makes yardage, beats first tackle, happy with length of contract 4 years of prime centre/winger.

Has the potential to be a very good player for us, but at 29 it’s a bit old for potential. Always makes metres and looks dangerous, we need to get the ball to him in space or 1 on 1, he’s a potent weapon but we don’t seem to know quite how to use him. Defensively he’s adequate, but seems to miss a few or get bumped off a bit too easily, but that’s fixable with some specialist coaching.

Yeh, 4 years sets a precedent on contract length.

Others will cite McDonald's deal in their own contract negotiations.

He's obviously athletic and expect he will stay pretty fit and very happy he's staying given he's been very good recently.

But does feel like a year too much.

2 years with an option both ways for a 3rd year.

Albeit a decent player 4 years at his age is ridiculous.

Even though he is a decent player he's hardly a Keith Senior or Newman.

Can only assume we have got him on a reasonable deal.

I wouldnt say that Newman is that much better than MacDonald, has potential for sure but a lot to prove.

No one wanted him in Aus came to championship club who didn't want to keep him we give him 4 year deal he's ordinary at best when you think of Godden, Blackmore ,Innes,Senior not even as good as Iro who was crocked.

Half of super league is ordinary if you compare them to players of the past

Also Leigh did want to keep him but they had too many overseas players.
