| Quote ="Gotcha"Gutted at that, hate golden point. But Hull KR and Campese to blame for that loss. Easy to manage where they were. On the other thread always the talk of players from Super League not good enough for NRL. Here was a player from the NRL, an Aussie international, and State of origin. There is many better players than him in Super League, including Luke Gale, who apparently couldn't play in the NRL.'"
Bit of a flawed arguement to use Campese as an example - he's not been good or fit enough for the NRL for about 6 years, with his last representative appearance in 2009. That's why he's in super league - he couldn't get a gig in the NRL.....
On his day (7 years ago) when fit, he was far superior to any halfback in the UK - the fact he gets a game over here despite having 5 years of consistent injuries and poor performances in the NRL says everything about the standard over here.

Maybe if Rovers had had a young fit strong academy prop out there instead of a ' walking ' Jamie Peacock O,Brien wouldn't have had a free kick at goal ?

| No pressure put on the kicker (O'Brien) on that last tackle whatsoever.
In fact, he was allowed to take his time, have a cup of tea, check his mobile phone for messages, have a stretch, then run five metres prior to lining up that drop goal.
See ya later Hull KR.

True, but why on earth the Hull KR defence didn't just flop on Evalds on the last play break away? get a yellow card, set up one tackle to go, game surely over. Instead the line was in bits and it was a much easier spread the ball and run in.

Because sadly, a lot of SL teams just aren't very smart.
In fact, a lot of SL teams play dumb when under any sort of pressure.
That's because they aren't put under much pressure very often where the result really counts.
It's exactly the same at international level. Our teams (GB in the past, England now) always crumble under pressure because many of the players aren't used to coping with it on a regular basis.

not cheating. Professional foul yes, but you see it all the time, see Farrell last night against Hull. Surely worth doing to save jobs.

Spare everyone your faux moral outrage.
Cheating and bending of rules will always occur in order to gain an edge or competitive advantage.
That is a given in any sport, professional or amateur.
Hull KR's effort late in today's game would be an insult to the amateur game quite frankly.

Not just a Leeds thing but... they have been consistently better than most at gaining a competitive edge (cheating) when it really counts in SL over the last decade and a bit, which has had a major influence on the number of trophies they collected during that period.

| Good come back from Salford and maybe some justice for their players whose penalty loss of 6 points was not really their fault. I thought they also played the better attacking rugby too. It was Hull KR's game to lose and they duly lost it.

| Disagree with the million pound game, why should Salford get an extra chance?
By making it decided in one game (not 7 or a season) Hull KR have been relegated because the referees missed a blatant forward pass
This result is also devastating for SL, we loose a club with a relatively high attendance, and also loose the Hull derby

| With KR now relegated you'd expect there top players to be leaving from what they've got I'd like Lunt as back up for Segeyaro but doubt he'd be happy being second choice hooker, Sio would be a good acquisition but we don't need him tbh but that's about it who I personally would be interested in from them, also would anyone consider taking Gareth O'brien from Salford thought he was pretty good for them today(and not just saying that cause of his monster drop goal) his passing game and link play is pretty good and he is also a goal kicker and can do a job in the half's I'd have him at Leeds if he became available.

it wasn't the players fault about the 6 points correct, however the owner blatantly cheated the salary cap . therefore the deduction was, rightly, a firmality

My thoughts at the time too Biff
It certainly wasn't rocket science and I'd hazard a guess that they wish they had now!

Yep. I thought the same. The KR winger (was it Minns?) who missed Evalds originally but then got back to him needed to just hold him down until the ref gave a penalty.
As you say, take the yellow card but they'd only have to face 1 play with a set defence.

And from the just inside the half way line, not even bang on straight facing the sticks. Was a classic kick.Doubt many of the best would have even reached the sticks.

Not that I'm saying shouldn't have, but it wouldn't be 1 play with a set defence. Salford would have got a penalty and drilled the ball deep into the Hull KR half. Considering what was at stake, it was disgraceful to see the KR 'effort' to get to the kicker. You'd have thought at that point they'd be scrapping for their lives. It sums up why they lost the game
