| it's what kept happening at warrington (even taking into account the personal issues in his first season) he kept picking up these weird knocks that would keep him out for weeks, usually in training.
i don't think he ever actually got a run of games for us

| Sinfield knows what he wants apparently, that's the easy part. How to achieve what he wants is the tricky bit and there is a chance he may not be up to that. He's never had to make these decisions before and they are completely different to those a player would make.
Having said that, this is probably the worst Leeds team I've ever seen. Even in the "good old days" we 50 somethings bore the younger generation with we never lost to lower division opposition. We not only lost on Saturday, we were outplayed. Line speed was comical, effort and commitment was non existent, the only thing we had in abundance was stupidity. Merrin and Dwyer apart (and a game effort from the kid playing 7) they were absolute $h1te. Have we recruited every clinically obese player in the NRL? I thought someone had brought the Roly Poly's out of retirement.
Handley's last play kick summed up the hopelessness of the day's effort as much as the truly masterful decision to put Watkins in the second row.
The first thing Sinfield has to recognize is that this "is" a 10-4 team, once he can get his head around that then he might have a chance of moving forward.

| Some things are hard to fix like lack of a halfback. Effort in defence can be fixed overnight. Fitness can be sorted in a matter of weeks.
On the fitness I'd look at getting an expert to set targets for every player to meet in a month (injuries aside). Then give ALL of them written notice that their contracts will be torn up if they don't meet them. Then follow through. There is literally no excuse for a full time pro to be a pudding, and no excuse for not calling them on it.

Personally I disagree on the worst team, they are playing like that but IMO the squad is capable of playing much better than they are, why they aren't playing better is the biggest issue for me.

agreed every game we turn up expecting to see the things that weren't there in the previous game rectified or at least a bit more effort ,no second half implosions etc

| Personally I find myself far more angry with the current team than either 96 or the other worst incarnation I remember of 86-87. In those cases there were specific causes - poor finances primarily - and the club turned things around very quickly once they got their act together.
The more recent problems are far harder to excuse as we had a real warning in 2016 and didn't act on it, and we have almost the same structural issues now as we did then. Added to that we've got a whole bunch of players who are 'supposed' to be good playing in the most gutless manner possible. They are so bad as a group its really hard to tell who is just rubbish and who is not trying.

Every time Leeds have had a successfull side in history, it has been based on youngsters developed added to with top class players. We were never going to repeat that when you destroy your academy development, and instead concentrate on average players complimented by cheaper (although) higher end players. They could just not see the wood for the trees, and would not dare let go of players they had out of fear.
Had we continued with the conveyor belt of development, we woudln't be anywhere near this now. And don't let anyone be stupid enough to fool you that there wasn't the players there to develop.

| Bottom line is the players aren’t trying their best and that’s inexcusable. I don’t blame any player for being crap so long as they play as well as they possibly can. Every day of my working life I did my best, even if I hated my boss or the firm I worked for; nobody can ask for more. This shower doesn’t seem to be trying, and that’s what sticks in my throat.

That's the bottom line.I wonder if the disciplinary procedure can be carried out for lack of effort

I`m not disputing what you are saying Bullseye.
But surely another well known source should have known this about Crosby before he signed?
It appears he was no different when he played for Warrington.
Either that or Leeds don`t do their homework which seems to be the case with Lolohea.

didn't the previous golden generation all receive benefits with john holmes brought out of retirement, alan smith playing to 40 and holmes and ward seemingly irreplaceable
wigan sold players just past the peak bought better then sold their ground

| Sinfield needs more time. He has made some mistakes around player/media management (recent example being Jordan Lilley). My main concern is his judgement on players. You'd think an ex Leeds captain would know a good 'un from a bad 'un, but this is one area we can't afford mistakes in after years of poor decisions.
We need to stop moving players around and just let them go if they're not making grade. Wanting something to be true isn't going to make it true. The reserves should help but the squad is bloated with also-rans I'm afraid.
Another big problem is just the sheer amount of change, and it looks like we'll need another big shake up for 2020. Bradford handed us a lesson in team play and desire.
Going forward we really must evolve the squad in regular pushes, because this mismanagement has led to a car crash.

| The whole Sinfield as DOR was Hetherington appeasing the fans by bringing their darling back, a smoke screen while the team he assembled struggled, he is also a deflection of blame for Hetherington.

| I still think the fans deserve more of an explanation of Furner's sacking. All the more so if on-field performances continue to be poor.
Yes, results weren't great, but since GH's arrival Leeds have usually been patient with coaching appointments. Was Furner really worse than Dean Lance, for example?
It's not good enough to say 'we know what the problems are, and know how to fix them 100%, but we aren't going to tell you'. And it's also not good enough to expect the fans to be patient when the management are behaving impatiently in all manner of ways.

| 2015 we won the treble and three top players .leaders left and following year were were in a relegation season we were told the usual reasons etc for that bad season . 2017 we finished second by a long way and won a one off game which happened to be a the Grand final , then a few more players left ,leaders as well . The management just hoped for the best and this is where we are. By the way what was the purpose of GFs annual trips the Australia ?
