Don't be fooled by Burrow's lack of height, he's not young anymore he's almost 30.

| Apart from changing the structure of the side when attacking you mean?
The occasional blip apart, the side has played well with McGuire and Sinfield as pivots and Burrow as a threat out of dummy half. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The structure has been changed during games when Burrow has gotten out of dummy half and into scrum half.
In fact, the side played quite well when McShane was introduced against Manly and Burrow shifted to 7. So, making such a move from the outset is not an admission anything is broke, it's just fine tuning it to work even better.

I don't think McShane will be 'dropped', I expect Hood will come in for McShane for this game and then Hood will make way for McShane for the Warrington game.

| You know you've got some real selection headaches when you can afford to play McShane and Moore in the accademy whilst 3/4 of the first team regulars are out injured!
Nice to see Hood get some first team action albeit at the expense of McShane in lieu of with him.
Kirke must have really impressed last week... unless it's the rotation policy to ensure others are ready and fresh for next week?

I feel for Moore as I don't think he's getting a fair crack of the whip. He was impressive in pre season but misses out when all the big guns came back = fair enough....but with injuries gets a chance against Widnes, goes well and his reward is getting dropped back into the under 20's yet Kirke retains his place

| Hard though it may be to believe, maybe the coaching team think that Kirke performed better against Widnes when a direct comparison could be made between him & Moore.

| 2 tries and an 80 minute shift from McShane in the U20s.
Not sure what he did wrong vs. Manly or Widnes to be rotated out.

It's become 'cool' on the board now to knock Kirke at every opportunity, so when people see his name in the team it is immediately questioned why he should be selected in front of other players. I'm not going to try and defend him if he plays poorly, however the fact now 3 coaches has seen fit for him to be selected, I will trust their judgement as to his role in the team.

My opinion is simply based on watching both Kirke and Moore SINCE our coaching team decided to bring Moore to the club. IMO Moore has outplayed Kirke THIS season in the chances they've had since pre season.
My point was more along the lines of IF our coaching team thought signing Moore was a good idea even though we have loads of prop options (and they clearly did seeing he's here) surely you'd think he'd be worth a place in the 17 when one of our first choice props is out. Granted IF Moore had performed poor since coming to us it's only right he's left out. However I think he's gone pretty well in pre season and hoped to see him get his chance to retain his place in the 17 whilst Bailey is out.

however we are only privy yo what happens for 80 mins a week. if one trains the house down or if others take the pee or aren't very professional then it would be right that the hard working one gets a place. unless we are very lucky no one on here knows any of this and to be honest no one really knows didly squat about pro RL compared to those who actually work at the top level of the game yet we question things based on our narrow view of the game.

You're spot on, we do only see players for 80 minutes a week - but surely those are the 80 minutes that count? If Moore is out-playing Kirke in games then Moore has to be the better option, yes?

And therefore we fans can only comment on the 80 mins a week that we see. I think, on first glance, Kirke made 3 maybe 4 carries last night. He must really train the house down.

but if you were running a team be it rl, football, cricket or whatever and someone looked a superstar in training but consistently failed to deliver in matches, how many years would you let that continue before the penny dropped?

So that would explain it! He gives his all on the training field and has nothing left for match days!
