Interesting point of view about different tactic adopted in main season, and play-offs. Do you think that teams play a game with high error rates in order to over expose their defence during the season, so its battle hardened by play off time?

I seem to remember in one of the McClennan seasons that we had the highest number of penalties conceded during the season, but that the problem magically went away at play off time.

I think this is exactly what BMcD has done through the season. Sacrificed one or two games to expose our frailties so they can be identified and rectified for the play-offs.

...and I'm sure that in planning for next year GH will expect far better regular season performances. He's got season tickets to worry about, and having sales live or die on the back of the play offs is no way to run a business. There's no way he felt that some of the performances served up at times were good enough.

We have been poor at times this season but would it be easier to sell tickets if we were in Wiggins position. Play well all season but fail when it really matters?

The huge income earned from another 2 Cup Final appearances plus the WCC will more than make up for losing some discounted ticket sales. Also our continued success will bring in some fresh supporters. The business looks fine to me.

Because we played some poor stuff in the regular season does not meant it will therefore repeat every year. I have follwed Leeds for over 50 years and you usually have plenty of dissappointing games during the season. It is sport and the unknown is part of the attraction.

This is one set of remarkable players coached by a dignified and honest man who the players rate. For what they regularly achieve I for one can cut them a lot of slack on other occassions.

Yes we have got to the Grand Final and got to CC Final again, this is down in the plays off to an excellent group of players who dont know when to give up. But again it is papering over the cracks, at times we have produced some of worst Rugby i have ever seen at the temple. The Huddersfield game, away at Wakefield, Bradford, Wigan when having 50 points put past us, St Helen home and away. I could go on, the side needs radical changes, we can raise it for a few games but not all season long. In performance over a year we have gone backwards since the high mark of 2009. I feel the coach may have not have the ability to do this. But not to end this comment on a negative, the boys done well yesterday and good luck for next week.

So for the second successive season Brian McDermott masterminds a grand Final triumph of the Leeds Rhinos.

Think any fans from other teams would love to paper over cracks with a superleague title. Whoever started this thread is a numpty and anyone agreeing with it also is one too. Super league is getting harder as some teams outside top 4 are getting better and will continue to improve. There is no god given right to win every game and think Brian knows which games to to win when it matters.

I'll not gloat....oh go on then, ive backed BM as a quality coach all the way. People who say he's 'lacking', have you spoken to him? Watched him coach? Know what to look for?!

Leeds were awesome this past few weeks and very worthy champions (again), so to all the people who were moaning about how bad your coaching staff were and how old and tired your players are... GET A GRIP.

The format for achieving success has changed , you no longer need to be the best consistently over the whole season, it's like a long distance race, as long as your in touch with the leader towards the end of the race , you stand every chance of winning, no one remembers the 10,000 metre runner who led the race up until the final lap and then finished 3rd/4th they only remember the winner ..Your coach and his staff/players have learned what it takes to be champions.Brian Mc is doing a great job.

Wasn't too impressed last year through out the year but after the GF last year have been more supportive of mac this year. At first his interviews used to anoy me, but he has actually grown on me this last year. And to get into all 4 of the major finals in the last 2yrs. Winning 2 cannot argue with that

I think this group of players have a connection with Bri McD that past coaches have not, yes Tony Smith is a class act and I still believe he is the best we've had in SL due to quality and consistency throughout regular season and play-offs.

Bri McClennan did the business but I believe on the back of Smiths ground work, was never fully convinced!

McD has never had it easy from Leeds fans or media come to think of it, but watching him after final whistle today just showed how much he loves the game, club, team and most of all players, being emotional on the point of tears says alot more than throwing fists in the air in my opinion.

He stood back and looked thoroughly proud and so he should be.
