| 1. McGuire's 2004 GF try. Finally we lost the tag of underachievers
2. Sinfield touchline conversion 2003 CC Semi, never felt anything like it at a Rugby match.
3. "Nickel gets the red!" Sonny Nickel controversially sent off at Odsal in the four seasons game of '98 after scrapping with Cummins.
4. Godden try at Central Park
5. Beating Saints at HQ around 2000ish when we were around 20 points down with 14 mins to go. TVOC, Any aid with this one please?
Other mentions: McDonald try at Knowsley Road, Ali try 2007 GF, Sterlings effort against Adelaide, Fightback against Sheffield at Don Valley

Yeah that one was awesome. Think it was about 2002 ish though (i stand corrected if not). Seem to remember big Willie Poaching crashing over close range to begin the comeback and lift the crowd. All a distant memory at the moment.

| Quote ="Ewwenorfolk""RL Fans" actually see the Tansey try as one of the best moments as a Rhinos fan? I'm not too bothered about that one anymore, it's long gone, but it was a disgrace to RL, and tbh -although it will be memorable for you- watching my team score a try like that wouldn't be in my top five.'"
It was a brilliant moment. I do hope after stating this you do not class winning the 2005 Grand Final as one of your favourite moments as a Bulls fan. You clearly broke the salary cap to win that one. We all have our crosses to bear but the Tansey try was a surreal moment despite the circumstances surrounding that try.
You may be past caring about the Tansey try. But I’ll never forgive the Bradford club for cheating Leeds Rhinos out of a back to back double back then.
Quote ="Adeybull"
Our issue is not with him at all, but with Klein for telling Ganson (and contrary to what the coaches had all been assured) to award the penalty which wasn't, and against Ganson for missing the offside and not going to the screen. To this day, I will never accept there was not some agenda running. But Tansey is blameless.'"
I think Ganson has more than made things up for all fans of the sport in his world cup performance!

| Quote ="Kifaru"Well really.
One was an incident that tarnished the game, another was ridiculous.
Fekwit of the highest order.'"
Bit harsh...... Granted - the comment re the Harlequins game was daft - in all honesty getting nilled wouldn't have made me feel any worse than I already did on Friday night, but you surely can't blame any Leeds fan for taking huge delight in the Tansey try? Rightly or wrongly it's a moment which most who saw it will remember for the rest of their lives. The Bulls fans quite rightly have a huge axe to grind, but had the roles been reversed they would have enjoyed it just as much as we did - very hard to argue against this getting a place on a "memorable moments" list. As for tarnishing the game??? If every time that an official changed the outcome by making a really bad decision tarnished the game we wouldn't have a game to be talking about!
For the record, my 5 would be:
1. Sinfield's kick from the touchline in the semi v Saints - I was watching the game with a mate who hadn't seen much RL - the game blew him away and made him an instant convert.
2. The final hooter when we won at Wigan, late 1993 (think it may have been the game involving the Fallon celebration alluded to above?) We hadn't beaten Wigan in what seemed like ages, and seemed at the time that Leeds were finally on the verge of throwing off the "underachievers" tag. It turned out to be another false dawn of course, but felt so good at the time! If I remember rightly Wigan were given "Team of the Year" at the Sports Personality of the Year later that day, and whoever handed the award over (Lynam?) made a comment about them losing to Leeds earlier on in the day - the Wigan players looked highly dischuffed!
3. Sinfield converting McGuire's try in the 2004 Grand Final to give us an 8 point cushion, effectively killing the game off. Had he missed, the last minute or two would have been nervy as hell, knowing that a converted try would tie it up again - instead I got hit by a surreal wave of realisation that we weren't going to be caught and the wait was finally over. Didn't quite end up in tears as others above mentioned, but was pretty damn close!
4. A moment about halfway through the 2nd half of the 1999 cup final when Leeds pulled far enough clear that it was obvious we weren't going to be beaten (on watching it back later Hetherington leaned forward at a similar point in the game and acknowledged it as such with Murray). I can't remember much about the next few minutes - all the noise around me just kind of disappeared and I stood in a bit of a trance trying to come to terms with the fact that the pain was finally over.
5. A cup match against Widnes (I think), late 80s (TVOC??) when David Creasser kicked a goal from the touchline to tie the game and earn us a replay (which I think we went on to win in a fairly low scoring game). I couldn't bear to watch and had to turn away - I was fairly young at the time and it was my first realisation of how one moment of sport can affect you so much.

| Purely Rhino moments:
League game: Leeds v Wigan '98 at Wigan. Brutal, skillful, dirty, and Brad Godden to finish it off.
The '99 cup final. So tense and then that wonderful last 25 minutes when all the stress lifted from Leeds fans and players.
2004 of course. I wasn't at the game (I went in '98 and couldn't bear to feel that bad again). We had a babysitter coming round and it was the first time we had gone out in years without the kids - I couldn't watch the match live, I turned it on to see Barrie Mac on the pitch with the trophy. The babysitter walked in at that moment to see me on the lounge floor on my knees (a pose not unlike the one used on the "Platoon" film poster) screaming "yeessssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". We never could get that babysitter again.

The Jim Fallon aeroplane game V Wigan was at Headingley during the 94/5 season. Wigan lost two from their 44 game domestic season at Leeds and Halifax (both on inferior goal kicking by Botica having outscored their opponents in tries) while collecting a clean sweep of trophies.

That was during an amazing run of four consecutive games against the Chemics:
02-Mar-86..... Widnes..... Away..... CHP - 20..... 18 - 20
09-Mar-86..... Widnes..... Home..... CHP - 21..... 29 - 12
16-Mar-86..... Widnes..... Away..... CC - QF..... 10 - 10
19-Mar-86..... Widnes..... Home..... CC - QFR..... 5 - 0
Quote ="Bob-Marley"5. Beating Saints at HQ around 2000ish when we were around 20 points down with 14 mins to go. TVOC, Any aid with this one please?'"
12-Sep-03..... St Helens..... Home..... SL 8 - 27..... 30 - 20
From 0-20 down five tries in the last sixteen minutes by Burrow, Calderwood, Connolly, Mathers and Poching all converted by Sinfield.

Cheers! Had a feeling the replay was low scoring, forgot that we nilled them though! Also had forgotten all about us playing them 4 games running, cheers TVOC - it's all coming back now! Must surely be the only time in living memory that 2 teams have played each other 4 games in a row?

It was definately this one then:
11th December 1994.... Chp..... Leeds 33 Wigan 28.
I think the confusion came when you started out with 'when we won at Wigan.'
Another memory from that game was Ellery Hanley trampling Jason Robinson while scoring under the sticks and Patrick Entat being left on the bench in the days of only two substitutes.

The JP semi at Bolton was the match Crooks did his shoulder and effectively ended his meaningful playing career. And I still have it on video. Difficult to watch these days though with Roy Powell and Peter Jackson no longer with us.
