I think a PL club might come in for Hooper. Or a promotion chasing CCC side. Plus I think he'll be out of our price range. I do think we'll need 5/6 proven players at this level next year. I'd be happy with Montgomery & Morgan.

Edit - I actually think the best player we could sign this year would be Beckford.

Sorry if it's been discussed in one of the hundreds of other pages on this thread but is there any chance,even if very small that Beckford will stay now Leeds are promoted or is he deffo off?

I'm not sure if Leeds are going to talk to him to see whether a deal can be struck or whether they have just written him off as gone

Mate there was a game where we lost by a Rooney goal to nil at home, it was after about 80 mins of the game towards the south stand. He put it through Eirik Bakke's legs, ran round him, then turned the chief around, before striking it into the bottom left hand corner (through a recovering Radebe's legs as well IIRC).

Ahhh. Well I saw the 2004 reference and I remember that game damn well. It was that point in the season, April I think, where games were running short and really we needed to win. Matched a very good Everton side so to come away with only a point and to feel down about it was frustrating. Vaguely remember the 2003 one but not as significantly as the 04 one.

Larry's comments about his spending don't inspire confidence.

Most of the squad will do for the championship....but need a few players in...got a list of targets...might not have very much money to spend.

Hopefully its just a smokescreen to stop clubs thinking there's money to burn and trying to hold Leeds to ransom.

I was thinking that myself mate,it doesn't inspire confidence especially when you consider the sheer number of players going/not good enough.
Hopefully his Kitty is at least good enough to replace the ones we lose/ditch,having said that there are quite a few "freebies" knocking about i think would improve us so fingers crossed.

Why do we as fans not learn. Splashing out money does not guarantee success on the pitch. I don't care how much a player costs, just that they improve the squad
