Golding was saying only last week that he is looking forward to pre-season with Leeds. Club can tell him he's free to find another club but if he doesn't want to there is nothing club can do and he can just sit on his contract until it expires. In Goldings case that's about 3 years still isn't it?'"
I thought 2? As for Parcell and Garbutt, it may be that it's them that want out, not vice versa. And while the club could insist on them seeing out their contracts they maybe have no wish to retain uncommitted players and simply want them off the pay roll asap.

hope that turns out that way, if it does then he will be a good signing. and not another Cory Aston signing.

| I'd be very disappointed if Garbutt does want out given his injury ravished year last year. Just the way it is I suppose. Have to say, though, Parcell, Garbutt and Watkins are probably the three names from the remainder of 2018 squad I would most like to retain.

i honestly cannot see the Golding rumor being true, think its just wishful thinking from the section of supporters who used him as a scape goat last year and the Walker fan boys. if it is true and the player is not wanted, then yes in theory he could just sit out 3 years of his contract and not play and just take the money. But i doubt a player would be happy with that, unless absolutely nobody wanted him, doubt Golding will be on mega bucks so should be able to find another club easy enough. If he did decide to sit on his 3 year contract, doubt any club would want him after being sat on the sidelines for 3 years, his career certainly at super league and upper championship clubs would be over. So if he was not wanted it would be better for his career to move and and play somewhere else and salvage his career.

Reading between the lines of this, his agent was on proper sport through last week and said ‘one of his players called him absolutely devastated that a club have told him he can leave and he’s still got 2/3 years left on his deal’ I guessed straight away that the was Golding.
Also, I’m told he has found him another deal already with a top club

| I can’t fathom the reasoning behind getting rid of Golding if the rumours are true , was way down the list of players needing moving on IMO

Way down the list of needing moving on. But at the same time, way down the list in needing keeping also, and that is saying something with how poor the squad was.
Would be surprised if true, but at the same time, not really bothered if happens, much better players for the role.

| The type of tough decision that everyone's been crying out for, I guess. Under the circs, some ruthlessness was inevitable if the overhaul was to be far-reaching enough..

| I don't know our academy well enough to know if we have anyone to take the step up from there but Sinfield has talked a lot about competition for places and how he wants to have players driving each other on. Golding does just that for Walker and Briscoe brothers. Of course, that's assuming we aren't getting another winger in.

| For me he would have brought something different to the squad and would help with leadership but I’m sure there will be many more links in the next week or so.

| Massive sigh of relief. Injury prone 35yr old was absolute madness, even given his off field influence.

| Imagine: Out - Golding, Hall, Moon, Parcell, Delaney, Mullally, Keinhorst, Garbutt, Galloway, Ormondroyd, Lilley, Jordan-Roberts, Walters. That would be a huge amount.
Ins - Hurrell, Lolohea, McLelland.
Unconfirmed: Young (Newcastle full back), Cunningham (London hooker), Briscoe, Tapau, Fensom.
Then we’d have Trout, Johnson, Mustapha, Holroyd, Smith, Sutcliffe, McConnell, Dupree moving up the ranks to the first team.

Because they’ve been made available, as has Golding, Walters, Mullally, Ormondroyd etc.

| I’d be surprised to see so many out this year. I think we will see the “project” players move out and be replaced by the kids, but others will stay unless they can be replaced by better.

| If we’ve made Parcell and Garbutt available then the intention must be for us to be relegation material.
But I don’t believe for one second that there’s any truth in it whatsoever

With 55 tries in 116 NRL appearances – for New Zealand Warriors and then Gold Coast – he is Rhinos’ highest-profile overseas signing since Danny Buderus in 2009 and is Rhinos’ first marquee signing, which means some of his wage will be exempt from their salary cap. Hurrell was a member of the Tongan squad that reached last year’s World Cup semi-finals and is 18th man for Saturday’s Test against Australia in Auckland.

| Parcell and Garbutt will both be big losses for us if they do go IMO...... Unless their replacements bring far better quality to our squad
When fit these 2 are shoe in's for our starting 17
