G1 and I have been to a few on our NFL travels and can definitely recommend them ...... especially when the football is on.

Im suprised by the Broncos but not their coach McDaniels he is an excellent coach especially with QBs, a few months ago when I was saying this I was getting the pish ripped out of me and people saying the Broncos wont win a game and he would be sacked after 5 games

I am surprised after the off season and pre season they had but I am also really pleased. Cutler acted like a spoiled brat and they dealt with Marshall very well.

They've laid down a marker as to how clubs should deal with spoiled superstars and its' working out well for them.

Not easy for me to compliment the Bronc-hoes, but I have been very impressed with Josh McDaniels and his team. From the treatment of Cutler and Marshall to the play on the field, and the ability to win, it's hard to fault them at the moment.

Outstanding mate,although me and a few shipmates got banned from the 1 in baltimore for asking "Cindy" our waitress if she did "spit-roast".
Imagine our shock when she didn't have a clue what we meant and she shouted across the whole place to tom in the kitchen if they did it and then she was taken to one side and explained what it meant!!!


We were asked to leave sharpishly,luckily we only had 2 days left in baltimore!

The Hotters in nottingam was surprisingly top quality when I visited, and I don;t mean the food

Not surprised they couldn't get a trade for Galloway. There's plenty of free agents that teams could take a punt at (Marvin Harrison anyone ?), so why waste a draft pick/player on a 37 year old when teams can pick up someone half decent for free.

Cheers for the replies fellas. Would be bog standard accommodation required. The general idea is to find a 3-4 week period sometime in 2010 or 2011 and go see a load of games in the north as there seems to be a few teams who are close (by US comparisons) together. Try take in a game each weekend. Not sure whether we would be driving or flying to each loacation, this is in the very early stages of planning. Just thought i'd try get an idea of costs etc.

Whatever you decide to do, enjoy ! I am sure you will have a great time. Base yourself on the East coast and you should have plenty of choice - NY Giants, Jets, Patriots, Eagles, Redskins, Panthers .....

In addition to driving, you could also go by train. The Amtrak/train system on the East coast is pretty reliable. It's been a while since I went Amtrak-ing around the US (about 15 years !), but they used to do 2/3 week passes for non-residents.

FAO Danascully, the NFL Americas greatest game was on last night and it featured the "76" Raiders with highlights from the season and interviews with past players and John Madden!!
How good a team were they????????
Any other NFL fans if you haven't watched any of these 1hr long specials they feature 1 team in their "hayday" and very good programs they are and give a very good insight into some of the best teams,players and coaches around!

They are brilliant documentaries. I have the three DVD's featuring the 82, 87 and 91 redskins.

I was tempted to buy the entire box set.

They had them all on running up to last years SuperBowl I think I got to see most of them until my Sky+ boxs memory ran out!!

They also had all the NFL top tens aswell

There is one of the Americas Games on today at 4.30 on SS2 about the 1980 Raiders team

I've got to say the quality of the "footage" from past eras is outstanding also.
It's also a very good learning tool for novices like myself and i've got to say i'll be hoping to watch more and more!

They're great Television whether you like the sport or not. Exquisitely filmed and produced.

NFL Films with Steve Sabol and his dad Ed before are brilliant.

Imagine Rugby League having its' own film company to film and archive all the games played and all the great players.

I think the "powers that be" need pointing in that direction because they are light years behind in production quality and coverage.

NFL Films are fantastic and like G1, I also have some of the America's Games. You could buy the whole set or individual team packages so I picked up the one with the Raiders from 76, 80 and 83. We were a pretty awesome team in the 70's and 80's - not so much now !!

I must admit the series is 'must see viewing'....... having got 'her indoors' interested in the NFL to degree she does sit for a full game on sundays,this series is in her view "one of the best produced sports programmes on telly' and SHE always SKY+'s it. lmao!

They are, but most DVD players are multi region nowadays. If not, its worth picking one up for 50 quid-ish to be able to watch the NFL DVDs...and other US sports.

I can highly recommend 'Ultimate Gretsky' for those NHL fans out there. G1 may even recommend it when he finally gets around to watching my copy !!

If your DVD player isn't multi region there's virtually always a code for it to unlock it. Look on that there internet.
