| Won the game in the first half - finished it off in the second.
We looked strong, disciplined, and organised. Widnes looked unorganised, sloppy with the poorest kicking game I've seen so far this year.
BJB didn't look like he'd been out of the first team at all and Briscoe looked similar to Hall. It's hard to do anything without the ball.
With performances like that I think we're in with a shout this year.

| More cracking SL competition for Leeds next week in the shape of London Broncos who, I'm sure, will provide another stern test for Leeds defensive structures.
In order to appease the [i"Joel Moon ate my hamster"[/i brigade, will the World's Biggest Winger regain his place next week I wonder?

| Briscoe had a couple of tough chances in the second half. Both would have taken some scoring though.

He'll rotate Briscoe out to please everyone next week. Or rest Hardaker

At least we didn't concede 20 points or more tonight at home to a team that hadn't won a game this season

| Quote ="rhinoms"A very good Team performance from us tonight the Pack were very strong and once we upped the gears going out wide with fast accurate ball they had no answer.
I'll also say even though it was 10-0 at H/T we had to do plenty of tough defence in both halfs.
I alos think the Coach got it spot on tonight and was rewarded by his teams efforts Jp only played 35mins in the 1st half and didn't return at all but Bailey and Kylie did the tough stuff consistently well and Achurch put a decent 2nd half cameo in.
Delaney got M.O.M at the match and to be fair it could have gone to 1 or 2 others aswell but personally i thought Hardaker was our best player.
Awful conditions for the kickers but we adapted well and dare i say it we didn't miss Hall but imo he and Briscoe are still our best 2 wingers.'"
Yes I thought Widnes put up a good show especially in the first half and it took a good effort to keep them scoreless at halftime. Soon as we gathered the 2nd half kick off and scored their heads seemed to drop and we put our foot down a bit.
Think for me Delaney edged MOM over Hardaker but really it was good all over the board instead of a few individuals starring. Agreed about Bailey and Leuluai stepping up, if they do this against the lower teams (the did likewise against Catalans) then no need to really panic over Peacock having those big games against the top 4 teams.
JJB did nearly all the game, came on for Moon after 7 and stayed on the rest of the game and looked much sharper and fitter. Thought Aiton had a strong game too. One I'm a bit disappointed in slightly ATM is Ablett, he's not playing bad but I had expected more from him this year (typical on his 200th appearance he had to switch to centre early on because of injury.....although he swapped with Ward for the last quarter who looked decent there).
Passes from several different people to Briscoe never quite came off but he got some chances in the second half, the last one resulting in quite a nasty trip over the advertising boards right near me, he got right back up again but looked pretty shaken.
After overcooking the 5th tackle option of passing it through several pair of hands before getting the kick away last week I was pleased to see a more straight forward approach mainly used tonight. It's good to have that in the locker to be able to have our centres kick IF need be but we don't have to over-do it and I thought our kicking was very good and very suitable for the conditions (whereas Widnes let themselves down with their kicking and kick choice).

Briscoe to centre? That could stir things up if he sets Hall up for a few

It's London at home, we could play Leuluai there and he'd set up a few for his winger.

I thought that Widnes' kickoffs were very good but then they did have plenty of practice.

Or even Hall to centre with Briscoe getting a bagful
Moon can play SO when he returns.

| If Moon is injured I'd expect BJb to fullback with Hardaker to and Hall back on the wing.

bailey scored a great half backs try and also defended very well but i can't recall a collision yet again that he won on attack?
i have never seen a prop forward who is so regularly picked up and drove backwards than bailey in my time watching the club, i would much rather select singleton each and every week from here on in rather than bailey, unless he needs resting due to being fatigued of course

I saw him running through players, think they are called tackle busts.

According to opta he has made as many tackle busts as Peacock with less than half the carries
Now I don't think stats are everything by a long way but I also think Bailey is a better player than you give him credit for

He did. for last quarter.
He looked surprised to get on
Was a very typical 1st run out, but showed good appetite in looking for the ball.
I expect all the fringe players to be playing on Friday.
