Whilst never being flash, to me he was always an underrated player. His best asses being lateral movement in defence, the ability to plug gaps, which was far better than most props around. This goes unnoticed a lot.
Second best attribute was being a superb enforcer, had opposition fans hating him for years, rarely got sent off and rarely came off second best in the skirmishes.
I'm a bit gutted to see him go, despite the fact it is probably the right time, seeing one of the ever presents of this generation move on. Goodness knows what I'll feel like when Sinny calls it a day!

On a serious note it should be the severe start of things to come with the refreshing of a once great team. Nothing lasts forever.

I suspect this is more about McDermott finally getting his way rather than anything else.

McDermott wont be judged on releasing Bailey, but on who he replaces him with.

Average squad player over hyped by some Leeds fans and underestimated by away fans in equal amounts. Gave the club decent service but always left with the feeling he could have been better.

I didn't particulary see him as an enforcer Barry Mac was an enforcer. Bailey is a player who gets under the opposition skin, and does that very well. Would have prefered kirke to go before bailey but In my mind they both needed moving on

A good player for us who could have been a great player - simply didn't kick on from the 'next Adrian Morley' tag he had as a youngster.

A vital cog in the wheel who contributed significantly more for his medals than some

A decent player, who occassionally showed glimpses of the player he could have been. Unfortunately it wasnt often enough. Howveer, has provided many memorable moments over the years.

Logically that follows but I think its unlikely. Without a replacement for Bailey there'd be high risk getting rid of another prop. Then you also have to factor in that potentially no one would come in for him, and so getting rid would cost on the salary cap

Hopefully this might be the start of a mini spring-clean; if the old clothes don't fit you anyway, bag them up, get them sold and get some new ones instead. Otherwise they will just be left in the cupboard collecting dust and not being used as they longer fit.

Why is he so wary of living alone? Surely by his age (and doing what he does) he should be able to cope living by himself.

I currently live alone and did a couple of years ago and I have survived (so far). And I am younger, earn less than BD and am but a weed in comparison to him in physical stature!

That link someone put up about the club analysing all aspects of a player's life; maybe this has played a role in getting rid of RB - someone has decided it is time BD sees if he is able to make it in life living on his own...

Maybe he is investing a lot of his wage for when he retires?
