I don't remember anyone getting on JP's back. The issue at the time, IIRC, was whether or not he was being used effectively as a prop forward, after being a blockbusting second-row at Bradford. It's worth noting that the coach at the time, Tony Smith, also liked to use JJB at prop, and the 2006 season was pretty lacklustre given the squad at our disposal. 2007 was a different story, however, and the rest is history.

I vaguely recall some issues with Senior but he seemed to come good pretty quickly.

Peacock came as a wide running back row and Smith converted him into a prop - no wonder people were not getting what they expected

Lui was poor in pre season too. Play Myler there. Dwyer can do 80. Donaldson to start in place of Mellor. Should have enough decent tacklers in the middle to stop clean breaks attacking Dwyer.

Dwyer's efforts last season suggest he's not able to handle 80 minutes, especially against a physical pack. No need to drop Lui yet, Mellor depends on who else is fit in the second row.

Martin is back on Friday which is good news. Nothing on Ward at the minute though

If Martin is back which like you say is good news and we have the likes of Donaldson, Mellor, and both Sutcliffes with Walters waiting in the wings.
It does make you wonder why we needed Greenwood as opposed to another prop.

Big Question: Are Warrington going to wear their mainly blue home kit, or mainly black away kit? Or are both going to clash so much with our home kit that we have to wear our away kit at home again?

Solid black back though is it not? Sure it won’t be an issue from the front, but Hull’s solid black back clashed horrendously with ours in week 1.

It's simple though innit. The kit man for the away side knows the home sides kit colour.

So they should choose the kit that doesn't clash. If you choose a kit that clashes you just get sacked instantly as that's your one job.
