On the face of it, a quality signing for Saints, and someone I think would have been a more than useful signing for us.

Without knowing the in's and out's of our dealings with the player and his agent, it does appear to be "one that got away".

I think we need to look at why we have Gibson (average) Ablett (average) Lee Smith (not a centre) rotating between 1 position.

why not get rid of 2 or 3 and sign 1 good centre?

Smith isnt likely to be here next year it maybe that he's just a stop gap until then but if higer management cant see it's a problem then i dont know

a good signing very like for like. it has been said by gould and co that backrow is maybe his best position. not the best hands but strong in defence and with the ball, not lighting fast but mobile for a big unit

And our defence in that centre position has been an issue. Gilmour seems to fall back inside to his second row position, leaving Meli exposed covering 2 or even 3 defenders.

Aye that's right pal, you're club didn't think he was a good player because he got one on the chin from one of the best and hardest props in recent years.
