Without reading too much into Cuthbertson stepping down as women's coach , but maybe that's the first movement Leeds trying to offload him to open up another quota spot. Just read in YEP that he's doing a sports directorship in Salford university maybe Leeds let him go to a club like Salford and just say we'll pay his wages or a part of them so that it free's another quota spot. I can see either Cuthbertson or Lui getting forced out to bring in Jai Field and a overseas prop.

Agree but I think Cuthbo might be retiring he's 35 in a couple of weeks and injuries haven't been doing him any good in the past 2 seasons.

How does the salary cap deal with player retirements?

I was more thinking that if someone was to "retire" and take another position in the organisation that happens to pay the same salary, how does the cap scrutinise this?

Sam Lisone is one name Agar is keeping an eye on according to TotalRL.

It said the exact opposite from what I read

I don't because surely he would have done this before pre season.I'm sure he'll see out his contract as he has said before when they were rumours of his release.

Anthony Gelling looks like being a free agent very soon, I say free agent I doubt he'll be playing professional RL any time soon.

For all the criticism of our cap management, I cannot believe this Toronto squad is up to the cap.

I agree they mist be paying the likes of Matty Russell, Ackers and Liam Kay etc a lot more than they should be.

IF they can keep a healthy squad (unlikely) they will win games when they play in Toronto and teams have to travel to them a day or 2 before the game.

Noble has seriously screwed up by the looks though.

They will no doubt get their first win against us when all their players are fit and have arrived with their visas.

Personally, I'm not that interested in Toronto at all.

The international angle is kinda cool in a marketing way and SBW is a big name for the sport but in terms of on the pitch they are poor. The coach is just a moaner and everyone seems fixated on their salary cap.

Right now they are the worst team in SL and their squad seems unbalanced. When your best chance of winning games is because you are based so far away then you have to question their longer term sustainability. If the RFL are serious about expansion then they need to build a North American League to reduce some of this crazy travel (appreciate any NA league would require lengthy travel even for them but it's all relative).

Sure, they will win some games this year and they may stick around for a few years but at some point the money will run out or be taken away and then what?
