How many of those 30 league games did Burrow START at hooker? Because that's the question, STARTING. The answer is 2. A lot of games when he was on the bench he didn't even get subbed on until the 2nd half (didn't get on until as late as the 70th min away to Cas) and we didn't always take Aiton off when we brought Burrow on.

That number is out, by a bit. He started his last 4 SL games at hooker, firstly, and started twelve of his 30 appearances last year.
Secondly, even if that were true, that help you even less. Aiton started 25 of 36 games last year, that would mean that someone other than Burrow or Aiton started 9 of 36 games at hooker for Leeds last year (11 that he missed minus the 2 that you decided burrow started), thats 25% of our treble winning season that had either a player that wasnt a hooker, or a Robbie Ward at hooker. Remember, your whole point here is the importance of a true specialist hooker to that side yet you also thought that we played a quarter of the season with either no hooker or a championship standard one.

I think there is a difference between being named as 9 in the starting line up and actually playing the position. Cuthbertson never played hooker in any game for Leeds

| chicko is a fantastic signing for us,if he stays injury free next season we will have a lot more direction in attack and also a better defensive structure with him defending down the middle channel
i think that there will be another quality signing to come tho for 2017 who will be a proven half back

erm.... No you havent. You have been arguing for the importance a 'Proper hooker' not only in Segeyaro but as a back up too, (one that isnt Burrow)
I have been educating you to the fact Leeds have played many many games without a 'proper hooker' Not only playing Burrow there, but others. Why you think the nominal naming of a player like Cuthbertson at hooker or a championship standard hooker like Ward helps, rather than disproves your argument i dont know. (also why, when we play in 3 competitions, only the least important one counts, again im not sure)

| He might have signed his shiny new deal with us, and his NRL clause has now gone, but..... word on the street down under is that the Sharkies could well come knocking still.
Would the club stand in his way if he said he didn't want to come back?

I think Cameron Smith and Jake Friend might say something about that. He might as well wait until Smith retires before going back.

| So he now wants to be released from his contract and stay in Oz. Devastating news. I understand why he would want this, but this underhand and cowardly way of reneging on contracts is a worrying trend. Someone has obviously tapped him up in Oz. Leeds are stuffed.

The NRL have said they won't accept him being registered to any club whilst he is still under contract, so if he is desperate to stay in Australia the I say we let him, but keep him registered and don't pay his wages for breach of contract.
Harsh I know, but it would stop SL clubs being walked all over, Wire should do the same with Sandow.

| trouble is if we dont pay him he could try and argue constructive dismissal and try and void the contract. The best we can hope for is a decent replacement on a swap deal. Unfortunately I would think most NRL clubs will have sorted their squads and there will be no on decent available. We cannot compete financially with the NRL in any event. One thing is for sure we wont be seeing Chick in the blue and Amber again. Hetheringtons been taken for a fool, something which seems to happening on a regular basis.. Hes been lucky in that for the last 10 - 15 years we have had a large core of the squad and hes only had to tinker at the edges with one or two replacements per season. That core od the squad is now either retired or should be and significant recruitment is needed this year and next and were doing nothing about it. The net result has been a slide down the league to relegation candidates. Its a criminal lack of planning

| I really can't see a positive outcome from this for Leeds other than finding an NRL club who have a suitable swap player for Segeyaro. If we can force him to honour his contract, I can't see him do other than make Achurch look like a talented grafter. If we let him go, even if we get a decent wedge for him, we'll struggle to find a qualty replacement. Hero to zero for me.

| Segeyaro hasn't covered himself in glory, but if we're being honest we got a shift out of a player who's easily top end NRL standard, and never wanted to go to England. I'd definitely ask for a fee from the Sharks, but might let other teams have him for nothing. I think the Dragons would bite his arm off for a start. There's no point in even trying to force him to play for Leeds.
