Aquilani's a decent player, but it's going to take a good while for him to get fit, even longer to settle in, and even then I can't see him being the player Alonso was for you. That leaves you with only 2 out and out "star" players, and if Gerrard's off his game (as he was tonight) and Torres can't stop arguing with people all the time, you're going to be in trouble! Looking around at the atrength of squad other teams have at the moment, you'll do well to finish higher than 6th!

Enjoyed the game. Thought we played Watford off the park, and I think that we could without doubt go unbeaten on home soil this season (touch wood).
Watford didnt deserve to score in the last few minutes, sloppy defending from Leeds. Other than that and Enoch Shuwomni, Leeds were quality.

Home tie at Elland Road against any premierleague side would be nice.

Why? The next World Cup is going to South Africa, which has one of the highest murder rates on the planet.

In Italy last year there were people killed, both a policeman and a fan from memory. Violence in South America is still a big problem, with the league being postponed not long ago in Argentina. Go to Holland and witness an Ajax Feyenoord encounter, they're not exactly friendly.

The fact is, for whatever reason, there's trouble in a lot of places around the globe. One night of mindless, idiotic, indefensible pre-planned violence in East London doesn't, or at least shouldn't, stop us getting the World Cup.

Don't be surprised if Blatter & co. use it against us.
