Providing Smith is prepared to give his all for the Leeds cause while still here then he should be picked.There is no point in weakening the team this season by not playing him.

I hope he stays in league. Not sure why some would want to continue picking him if he were to leave in June though. Since he'd not be around to help us in any of the games at the pointy end of the season I'd far rather perservere with Gibson, Watkins et al.

It would appear at this stage Watkins has possible defensive weaknesses.In close games that could mean the difference between losing and winning.He probably needs to be brought along in the "easier " games to develop,whilst Smith plays in the "tougher" ones.If as a result of playing Watkins all of the time and excluding Smith means we finish out of the top 2 then winning the GF becomes more difficult.

What do Rhinos fans in general think is going to happen. Does it look like he's off or staying? Am I right in thinking that Leeds won't have enough of their cap lest to bump up his salary considerably (after some of his amazing performances) but would be a loss to Leeds and RL if he went to Union.

No, we started the season 1 short on the salary cap and with Eastwood not coming we'll be in great shape salary cap wise. I'm sure we could even find space for Sam once he sees sense and follows his brother over here.

Not many world class players become available mid season, and if they do it would normally for a bad reason. I'm not sure what's going to happen with Eastwood. What if he likes it at the Bulldogs?

I was told today that Saints have been sniffing round Smith for 6 months now. Now that would be an interesting move. It would be a shame if he goes to Union as rumoured, he's a good player despite how much I despise his cocky attitude.
