A new coach is a must but GH also needs to shift some of the current squad and bring some quality in as well. Not sure how well that will go, doesn't seem to be much talent left that hasn't been signed up already

Was Friday that bad?

It was the continuation of the theme we have become used to. Lack of options in attack, no dummy runners, no creativity, just crazy passes to people who were not in any better position than those who were doing the passing. We don't hit the line hard and continue to look clueless with the ball. Clarkson comes from nowhere in recent weeks straight back into the starting line up, and we drop Hardaker who has been one of the most potent attacking threats we have had all year. In addition now that we have let 2 props go, the others have no pressure on them to perform.

Without the ball, we had zero line speed, and no intensity in defence. It's a good job it was only Bradford or we would have conceded many more points.

I am not looking forward to next week....

I was fully optimistic that we would get the 2 points on friday night against the poorest Bulls side i have ever seen during the SL era.

The Bulls however came with a very simple game plan of trying to complete their sets followed by a good kick option, the fact that all their points came from not breaking our defensive line tells the story of how dire a game it was

We however clearly had no such game plan or structure, we did have some very industrious efforts by JJB, Buderus, JP and by my m.o.m Ablett though

We started this season with a basketball side that simply offloaded the ball at every opportunity did we not?
We now have no attacking options at all?
Is this a coaching problem or a players one?



We are really struggling to make the hard yards up the middle and we are also woeful at controlling the collision, due to this we can't get the field position required to release our pacy centres....oh wait a minute

I cant wait for Watkins return to fitness, this is his undoubted chance to play left centre whilst Senior is still out injured and a chance for him to make this position his own

I agree. Several more players will leave and we need 2/3 quality players brought in to play alongside our good youngsters who are coming through. I'm not sure who is still available in the NRL. GH went to Australia in November last year and met managers/agents so I'm hoping he's got something up his sleeve!

Mal Reilly was a legendary player and a great coach with GB, Cas and Newcastle. However, does anyone advocating him remember 1988-89? Hello?

Ellery Hanley? Purlease. Look at his departure at Saints, look at his consultancy role at Cas. Legenary player but no coach.

Heck, Peter Fox did well with Northern and Yorkshire, why not mention him?

It was horrendous. Bulls were the worst team I have seen this year, and we still got beat by them.

Personally, I am still firmly of the opinion that a change of coach would make very little difference, we would still be 5th, still losing games expected to win, and still be way behind the new top 4. The only way of ensuring that situation changes is a big overhaul on the playing front. Probably will still show that McDermot may not still be up to it, but at least we would have a better foundation in place than now for any new guy.

If anybody really believes that McDermott told Sinfield in that second half not to get the ball wide and to just do suicidal flat short passes back inside, then they are seriously in a daze.

The next two games are Wigan and Catalans away. Very hard to see Leeds getting any points from either games, and two batterings a possibility.

If Cas and Hull beat Bradford and Salford respectively, we'll be in EIGHTH. Fifth has gone.

In that likely scenario, I'd be hopeful of a coaching change before the two Hull games.

I couldn't imagine any other outcome tbh.

But mind you, I couldn't imagine any coach with an ounce of credibility sticking, who was on the night, our best player out on the wing for the final period of the game - so who the hell knows anymore.

Yet if we had won on Friday we would be on the same points as Saints. What a missed opportunity.

Not that it would ever happen, but I'd still rather have Reilly in charge than Noble.

Surely any problems behind the scenes would be made worse by the number of key players reportedly not having a great relationship with him?

Don't think there's any chance of a change before those games, let's face it we are not expected to pick up anything from those games anyway. Two losses against Hull though (the second game now being a season definer) would surely force GH's hand??

Hethrington's hand will be forced if he sees a sea of empty seats at the Hull game. It'll dawn on him that season ticket renewals will be down, result, bye bye McDermott and Lowes. Although I am exasperated at the current coach his tactics and the mediocrity of the playing squad I will be there to support them come what may! I just hope Hethrington proves me wrong and puts us all out of our misery and gets rid sooner rather than later, and culls another 4/5 of the remaining squad and recruits quality replacements while he is at it.

I'll buy 15 season tickets for ten consecutive years if Hetherhington puts Rhino bucs out of it's misery.

Fully agree. Even though I have seen nothing positive about McD and a lot that is negative I still believe that the squad peaked a couple of years ago and needed freshening up in the key positions back then. Injuries and lack of form have made matters worse for the coach who has so far shown he is unable to overcome these problems and has compounded them by poor team selection.

Having said that we are seeing some woeful individual performances on the field that are the sole responsibility of the players.

I'll make the sacrifice for the greater good.
