Exactly! All Morgan called Thaler was Sub Standard and he got huge 4K fine, quite substantial for a SL player/coach. The only way you can punish a coach is by a fine, so i suspect Keith will get maybe half of that fine and 2 game ban.

They could make them sit on the replacements bench instead of in the stand.

Not sure they can ban a player for something thats occured OFF the field

There is a difference between what Senior said, i.e, the ref is not interested in following the rules of the game in his desire to the centre of attention and a coach saying a ref had a bad day at the office

We want to improve the quality of the officials, this will only come about by greater competition for a full time position - abusing refs in the media is simply not on. Getting a video of the game, and talking through the inconsistences with the refs is a different matter.

I see yer point but every week they have a video "review" session with cummings and it's done bugger all to improve the consistency of the calls they make week after week.
At least when Mcullum was in charge there was more clarity and they answered for persistent poor performances.

I think you make a good point here, Senior and his team were punished by Silverwood for his poor conduct on the pitch! As such, that matter is closed and now the issue Senior faces is about bringing the game into disrepute for comments after the match. The precedent for this matter, especially in relation to coaches is to fine them heavily and issue a written warning about their conduct, indicating that a possible charge of misconduct could follow if repeated. He is going to get fined, possibly also by GH and the club, and sent a harsh letter. I don't recall of any incident of this kind that was committed off-the-field bringing about a ban and I think it would be odd to do so as it was not for a breach of on-field discipline or conduct.

Looking at the operational rules I suspect that, although "involvement in Matches or from grounds during the conduct of Matches" is a possible punishment open to them, the general guidance for punishment of misconduct is a fine imposed on person or club.

what about Long & Gleeson?

As I have said, the operational rules do allow them to 'suspend' (I use that word for ease, but they do not use that phrase at all in this part of the rules, but they do use the term in relation to on-field disciplinary procedure!) but the rules are geared more towards fines with published structures and sizes/limits of fines already in place.

As such Long and Gleeson were banned from "involvement in Matches or from grounds during the conduct of Matches" as part of there punishment. I would however, suggest that this is a far more serious offence than the offence Senior is alleged to have committed and they did also get fined IIRC?
