Some of the bans our players have received have been totally ott.
To then basically let every Saints player off including Knowles deliberate chicken wing beggars belief.

I agree Knowles should have been banned but fail to see what other Saints players should have been banned

If the RFL think any Leeds supporters (largest supporter base in UK RL) might like to go to a RLWC game (who haven't already bought a ticket), I think they might be greatly disappointed.

They did. And it hasnt sat right with me that you can ‘appeal’ an appeal. Its a joke. A group of people decide its a ban. A group of people or one person (a judge) decides its still a ban. A group of people decide its not a ban. What does that say about the two groups and the processes that came before? Embarrassing.

So theyve basically decided the player it happened to faked the fact it hurt him and is a liar. Tricky ground me thinks.

Once again the MRP are the story in the biggest week of the domestic calendar. Whatever the merits of the miraculous evidence Saints have managed to produce it's just a terrible look for the sport. If I had to guess I would say Saints have turned up with legal counsel ( not a player and a coach) and Cullen and co have scuttled back under the sideboard. It a was ban the vast majority of fans, regardless of club affiliations, agreed on. That’s why the overturning of it stinks so putrid.

I suspect if the incident had involved head contact, the ban would not have been lifted. Ultimately that's all the MRP are really worried about.

Saints have no excuses if they don't put us to the sword now; not that Leeds won't have something to say about that.

No, let's be very clear what happened.

Every sanction has a right to an appeal.

Leeds appealed the Newman two game ban.
They failed and the ban stood.

An additional one match sanction was added for the frivolous appeal. How sad that phrase looks now.
That new sanction had its own appeal process which Leeds followed and also lost.

There was no double dipping of appeals. I can't see this has ever happened before today. So a completely new process, just for St Helens, just in Grand Final week.

It's either corrupt or absurdly incompetent.

This fast developing scandal will inevitably overshadow whatever happens on Saturday night now. It's a massive crisis for the sport and its credibility.

You'd feel bad if Leeds won though and you weren't there to cheer them on. Don't do it, it just doubles down on Saints benefitting from this!

How do the referee’s and video referee’s keep getting these decisions so wrong? Yellow card’s against Saints players is obviously a way for the game officials to try to even games up and stop them spoiling the TV spectacle!

This is the end game. They - and the ever- lazy RL media - don't seem to grasp that this is suddenly a full blown crisis. Possibly the biggest i've seen in my 35 years watching.

A completely new judiciary system has been created for the benefit of one club in Grand Final week. And that system has overturned what pretty much everyone agreed was a reasonable sanction for pretty ugly foul play.

Rugby League is in turmoil tonight and the RFL and our sport's media don't seem to realise quite how bad it is. It's like there's been a coup and nobody knows how to stop it.
