The lack of action taken against any of the St Helens players from this game is laughable.

He's no great loss if we lose him for one more game so I'd like Leeds to appeal the Bodene Thompson one. Partly to see if they've fixed up the joke of an appeals process and partly so they get an explanation as to what a wrong-footed player is supposed to do in that situation.

I'm utterly utterly fed up with it.

1. Thompsons was not a deliberate trip so sin binning should be sufficient

2. If Newman's was bad enough for 2 match ban then the joke of a ref should have sent him off ( Grant ruling out a try for H.K.R. yesterday showed why he should be no where near a Rugby League game )

If your referring to the “shoulder charge” in the first half then a) it was Lees (even though yes, Blake Austin was saying Walmsley should be sent off) and b) the only shoulder was from Tetevano who went for the big hit and got sat on his backside. It was neither a shoulder charge nor high from Lees (though funny as anything). It wasn’t even a penalty but the ref had backed himself into a corner waiting for the video ref to confirm there was no head contact.

And “escalating” the head high off the ball shoulder charge? Really? Walmsley pushed him off Hurrell, it’s Bentley who turned it into a fight.

On 2. Yes, he absolutely should have. But that doesn’t go with the narrative Leeds got nothing from the ref …

Think Thompson's probably the unluckiest. I've zero problem with the other two. Havent rewatched walmsleys alleged indiscretions but didn't see owt too amiss at the time.

What a load of crap. Lees and Walmsley both lead with the shoulder and none attempted to wrap their arms around the player. You don’t have to make contact with the head for it to be a shoulder charge, hence why it was a Leeds penalty.

I’m not normally one for referee or RFL bashing, but both are having an absolute mare regarding that farce of a game on Thursday.

The RFL are clearly throwing the book at Leeds and we can't complain about it. Our record is atrocious this year and we deserve everything we get.

I have watched it many times. Tetevano dips the shoulder not Lees or Walmsley. It would have been a legitimate tackle if he hadn’t flown backwards on his Jacksie

Agree that Grant decision to rule out a HKR try as video ref yesterday was bordering on unbelievable. He then awarded one by Cudjoe which looked like a no try for losing control to me.

You can’t complain as part of “we” because you are not a Leeds fan. You do though appear to have chip on your shoulder.

Unfortunately our card is now marked with the RFL.
All punishments will be OTT because we are not learning.
All our punishments will be disproportionate to other teams, but that's because our discipline is so shocking.
As far as the RFL are concerned, there's only one way to fix it - longer bans.
And they've kind of got a point.

We have to get a grip internally and fix it asap.

I think Thompson is a bit unlucky to get 2 games. It was a reaction and he was caught off balance, there didn't seem to be any intent.
Newman deserves a ban. You just can't direct abuse at the referee no matter how much you disagree with the decision. It was reminiscent of what you see in the Premier league and not what we want in RL.
Tetevano deserves anything he gets. Terrible signing.

Leeds have to fix their own issues. The number of bans we have recieved is ridiculous and our disiopline is clearly unacceptable for a professional team. We lack leadership especially on the pitch. There has been talk under Agar of a leadership group but its clearly not working if there is one alledgedly in place.
Notwithstanding all of the above the quality of refereeing and management of the disciplinary system has become laugable.
I cannot believe that I am missing the like of Steve Ganson and Russell Smith. Referees used to talk to players and deal with any niggle in a game when they needed to. The bad tackles or indiscretions generally got a card or 10 minutes and brodaly speaking bans felt right when they were handed out.Nowadays its a joke and a complete lottery. Leeds still have by far the worst record and need to sort out their own house but the lack of consistency is staggering. In our game Tetevano clear red and cops a ban 3 matches plus whatever else for his record no issue. That probably should be it. Only other questions are possibly Walmsley on Tetevano for retaliating and causing the melee. Maybe 2 matches. Newman dissent Thompson accidental trip denying a try scoring opportunity and Lees slightly mistimed tackle sin bin would have been it a couple of years ago

So Newman's appealing his ban? That'll be us without him for another game then. Why do we keep making life so difficult for ourselves? Can't see us improving the discipline until we can learn to zip it (during AND after the game)

Just imagine had Bentley cleared out Tetevano with a forearm smash in the same way ! He'd have got 2 games at least ....in fact any Leeds player would.....

I agree a 1 game ban for Thompson would have been sufficient, Tetevano would have got a grade E if Hurrell stayed on the ground injured.

Don't know what was wrong with Newman he seemed to be hyped up and agitated all game, I don't think the away fans or the viewers would have see off camera his manic behaviour. An experienced ref might have given a yellow card sent him to the sidelines to let him calm down.

We are very similar to Leeds in respect to discipline we have improved the situation but it looks as though Leeds havn't. Saints are the most penalised team in superleague and next to worse for yellow cards and match bans. What I don't get is Wigan have the least amount of penalties and only 1 yellow card whilst the yellow card average is 6+/

It will because he should just take it on the chin and learn. The club are reinforcing poor behaviour by appealing. His is actually the only ban I agree with from latest round!
