Is something going on with Lui, heard off season that there was some unrest and potentially going but that was put to bed? Maybe not, could he be on his way out, I would much prefer Jai Field at 6 and then let Gale actually control the game.

Being honest I’d have him at six over Lui every day. His game would compliment Gales.

Only way I can see a club selling a British prop is a club who still have a quota place to replace the vacancy.

Only ever seen a few highlights of him playing 9s and reserves anyone else more evidence to back up the confidence in his potential? And if that’s a no, as an example of being cautious with highlight reels go back and watch joe vickerys.

Thought the rumour was that we are going for Fifita also? I would assume Cuthbertson or Lui have to go if we are going for Fifita and Field. But that would be a very big improvement.

I`m sure I read somewhere it takes a month to get a passport.

Cuthberston in last year of contract and IIRC last season he said he was contracted and wouldn't be going anywhere.Lui is contracted for another 2 seasons so unless he can find a club in the NRL or SL I doubt he's going to walk away.On Fifita not sure why Wakefield would be to do a deal as it was only last season gave him the largest contract ever offered to a Wakefield player and several posters from their site seem to think Wakefield are fairly cashed up.Fifita would certainly add some grunt up front.

We have an abundance of young players with big potential coming through, we don't need to go out and sign more!

What we need is a seasoned pro for the front row and to cover the three quaters. Would not be impressed with either of the players mentioned, as they can't even get in an NRL team!

And yes, as a club, we need to stop going off highlight reels!

Jai Field is a young St George Illawarra player, our head coach was player pathway manager at... St George Illawarra, but yes, I’m sure the club are only interested in him because they've seen a few YouTube clips.

I think we're only 2 signings away from being very strong again. Jai Field would add speed which we are desperate for. Another Sollid prop and we are looking good

Outside backs look a bit lightweight with the exception of Koni. A speedster would be good but, in these days of reduced interchanges, another back with a bit of heft might be better (though it pains me to say it; quick players are a better watch IMO but are they what's needed most in the modern game?).

I'm conflicted on the possible signing of Field. On the one hand he does appear to have great speed, on the other he is primarily a half back, an area where we finally have some depth. If we sign him what kind of message does it send to Callum Mac? I know he can also cover full back, but does Walker really need a deputy who takes up a quota spot? The pack seems the most obvious of our weaknesses and another prop would still be where I would be inclined to spend our overseas money, if and when we ever do.
