I have had to brake one of my rules of life today. "NEVER EAT ANYTHING BIGGER THAN YOUR HEAD"

The wife baked some sort of fresh cream, marbled effect marzipan cake contraption, with strawberrys.

I have a day off and eaten the lot. Need to get tidyed up and dispose of the evidence.

Had to settle with custard doughnuts from Asda. No decent looking cakes!

Made some more homemade beer and cider today so in a few weeks I will be eating homemade cake and quaffing homemade cider/ale.



Which leads me to this question, which cake goes best with beer?

Just back from Cyprus and the hotel had the most amazing array of cakes every day all day. Most had layers of cream 2 inches thick with sponge bottom and fruit flavoured thick glaze on top. Bloody gorgeous

It was a fantastic wedding. Even the cake was in teirs.

My Birthday tomorrow.

First portion of cake is tonight and hoping they'll be some more cake when I arrive at work tomorrow. If not, I'm pretty sure I'm well within my rights to sack someone. I shall ponder exactly who overnight. Just in case. Then I can sack them right at the moment I realise there's no cake, and sleep easy knowing it was the right person that went.

My Mrs has recently changed jobs and become a 9-5er.

The "good" news is that we now have every (yes, all 5!) evening together, and weekends too (which was a bit of a ball ache given that we missed Sunday games, and could never go away for the weekend).

The bad news is that she's not at home during the day any more, and I've already noticed a significant drop in the amount of baked goods I return home to.

There is Yin and Yang in everyone's life.
